Hi All - not sure if this is the right forum or not.

Friends of ours had to cancel a trip this week due to one of their twins getting sick/hospitalized. This is a MAW trip. We're going down (coincidentally actually) on Saturday. I plan to buy each girl a princess doll and mail them up hopefully the first day we get there with a letter from "Cinderella" saying that she's sorry to miss them etc... and that she'll be waiting for them once they're able to travel. Any suggestions for extra "pixie dust" I may be able to add? And also - is Fed Ex/UPS widely available at the resorts? My heart breaks for them, being a special needs mom as well and knowing how important this trip was. Thanks.

Thisis a fine forum for your question! And, how sweet of you to think of such a nice thing to do for them to help with their disappointment.

We have never shipped anything (at least I can't remember doing it), but I have seen information in the WDW shops regarding shipping. I do know that people ship home large or fragile things instead of carrying them home in their luggage.
So, they should be able to help you out.

I would probably contact Concierge at your resort front desk area before you buy anything to see if they could arrange shipping for you. That way, you could add some other special things to the package.

I was thinking maybe you could bring a card along for each girl and ask Cinderella to autograph it (she appears at MK in the Exhibition Hall across from City Hall), get a first visit button for each ( you can get those at Guest Relations at any park), Mickey stickers (CMs hand them out to kids pretty freely) and maybe park maps.

You could ask the front desk of your hotel to see if they have any Mickey confetti..and if you tell them what you're doing they might be able to help or pass along pixie dust of their own. If nothing else they'd be able to get to Cinderella on her "off time" and get a signature for you.

not sure where you are staying but along the lines of what Sue was saying about stickers....
Well at POP, if you ask in the gift shop they have about 15 different ones (different characters) in a cupboard that they can get if you ask the 'right' CM. Also how about some of those fun mickey head shaped straws that are only like 50cents? They'd be fun to drink from ahead of time and are very inexpensive! just a thought....
You are a very kind and thoughtful friend!!!

Well I can only imagine how my DD5 would feel if it happened to her if we had to miss our trip(and how bummed I would be too), so I want to do something to cheer them up some! We're going to MK first thing Sunday morning and hopefully we'll get to see Cinderella. If not, I can always write it out nicely myself.

We are staying at the Art of Animation in the LM rooms. I'm thinking the dolls and some little things like the forementioned straws... the mickey confetti was what I was thinking too, but not sure where to get it. I'll check with the concierge and the gift shop once we arrive, and ask if about getting help for the signature too. Thanks for the suggestions and any others are welcome!

Just thought of this when reading your post about the resort gift shop - I would see if the resort gift shop has the dolls you want to buy. Some have a pretty good assortment of toys and other things.
The gift shop at the resort is less likely to be as busy as those in the parks and may be able to arrange a bit more pixie dust for you because of that. Besides, since you are staying there, they would have more time to do things - they could just hold the dolls there and don't have to worry about making the transfer time to get the items to your resort to you.

The concierge desk might also have some other small items we have not thought of.
