Friday Morning 12/30/17- Time for some Rain for Early Entry and expected all day

Well, some decent amount of rain has started at the same time Magic Morning/Extra Magic Hour, and is expected all day and night, and into Saturday. Should be interesting to see how this impacts the crowds on the busiest days of the year, and not many locals attend anyways....

Rain has stopped now but the crowds were much lighter for the first couple of hours. Felt like a "normal" DL crowd instead of insanely crowded. But it's picking up now and lines are growing.

The 28th and 29th were insanely busy. I couldn't believe the # of people I saw on Thursday (the 29th) at around noon in LONG lines at the ticket booths for what I could only assume were people who live relatively close that just wanted to get in for the day.

The rain yesterday really cut the crowds. It was awesome. We didn't go in till around 1:00pm to miss most of the rain (and just to rest) and we still had a long day of significantly less # of people and the ability to park hop (when it's crazy busy it's not practical to park hop if you want to do fast passes and actually do anything). The rain was pretty light for most of the other times it rained the rest of the day. The last two hours last night were almost a ghost town at DL. Walk-ins on nearly everything (Matterhorn! Pirates! HM! Big Thunder!), It was really fun. It started raining hard at just about midnight.

I'm keeping my eye on the DL app to see ride wait times at DL. Looks like they're just starting to pick up now for Space/Indiana etc. But it's also supposed to start raining pretty soon till approx 5pm-ish. We have ponchos but would rather avoid the rain and try to get into DL for tonight. I don't think they'll hit capacity. We'll see!
