So, how bad would the Friday before Presidents Day weekend be crowd wise?

My son gets a 4 day weekend, and his 7th birthday is that Friday, Feb, 13th. Thinking of taking just him on a special one day in the parks bday trip. We would down Thursday after school and going to the parks on Friday the 13th, then drive home Saturday. Any thoughts? Am I crazy? Is there anything going on that weekend I should know about (convention/cheer competition, etc) TIA!

I don't know about special events, but in my experience, Fridays are always crowded. The local annual pass holders start to come in on Friday afternoon/ evening. Combine this with it being a 3-day weekend with two holidays (both Valentine's Day and President's Day), and I think it's going to be brutal.

If you do decide to go, get there at rope drop to try to get a few things accomplished before the bigger crowds hit. Have fun!

There is a cheer competition on the weekend (Sat/Sun) at the Anaheim Convention Center. I have no idea how big it is (it's something called West Coast Championships).

My guess is that the Friday will be about what most Fridays are like in the winter: moderate-to-low crowds in the morning and early afternoon, with crowds picking up in the evening.

Thanks guys. We were just at the parks...so I don't mind it being a bit crowded...just don't want to find ourselves in a crush of humanity (like the villains event)! I think he would get a kick out of being at DL on his actual bday......hmm. Still torn.

No, I don't think it's going to be anything like the Villains Event or even the late evening during the 24-hour event. I suspect it'll be slightly more crowded than a typical Friday night in February, but nothing awful.
