I booked a Tony’s reservation for 2:15 in January. I am going to request the porch area!! We have watched the parade so many times and this will be a nice new perspective of it for us! Thanks for the idea.

I can handle this kind of rain there, but last year we were soaked to the skin. I really don't want to be in ANY park in that kind of rain!

HARAMBE



We made our way over to the safari and had a decent ride.


I don't know who this guy thinks he's fooling, but he's going to need a bigger tree!


Afterwards, our danishes and doughnuts had started to wear off and we talked about where to go for lunch.
I would have really liked to go back to Satu'li Canteen but nobody felt like walking back there.
So instead, we decided to stop at Harambe Market and check out the menu.
To my surprise, they had a Chicken Bowl,
which is probably what I would have gotten over at Satu'li anyway.
And Nicholas and my mom both were just hungry and agreed to eat here.
Allie, well, Allie walked somewhere and got herself some fries . I know, @kastoney , I know

My mom and I both ended up with the Chicken Bowl, and Nicholas got the Ribs Bowl...








After lunch we went into the UP bird show.
I love exotic birds so I really like this show, but not as much as I used to like Flights of Wonder.
The story in this show is just kind of annoying and distracting, but the birds are still cool.


While sitting there, I was able to make a FP for Dinosaur.
I think this must've been at Nicholas' request because none of the rest of us really like it.

She was hanging on for dear life!
She even said after the ride that she hated the jerkiness of it.
So I think it's safe to say that it's a one and done for her.

It was only 1:30, but the pool was calling us.
I had thought we would stay until the nighttime show or even maybe go back later,
but nobody wanted to.

I can't even imagine it being not there.

I decided to go easy on them in WDW because I knew we were getting cut off soon while we were on the cruise

That's okay. I find that Disney has plenty to distract kids from their phones... the few times they go on it, isn't a big deal.

This kinda makes me chuckle. Can you imagine being anywhere else in the world and you're driving along and giraffes are right outside your window... and you say. "it was a decent ride."

Your meals at Harambe Market look pretty good! I don't know that I've seen any recent reviews from there, so it's nice to know about another spot to grab food!

It's too bad you didn't end up returning to AK. That park has really grown on me in the last few trips and I think it's my second favorite behind MK.

Your meals at Harambe Market look pretty good! I don't know that I've seen any recent reviews from there, so it's nice to know about another spot to grab food!

We really enjoyed it. I will say, it was hard to grab a table but with four of us, we were able to and had a seat by the time our food was ready.

Everyone else seemed to enjoy their meals and although I was slightly disappointed with mine,
I will definitely be back to Tony's.

Just as we were finishing our meals, the parade reached Town Square.
It's so relaxing to sit and watch from a nice, shaded porch.

So even though I know the secrets about what to shoot at, I always do poorly.
On the other hand, I shared the secrets with Nicholas once and of course...

I am hopeless at those games (both Buzz and TSMM). My boys do super well though. Does Nicholas game? I think that can be part of their success.

COP is definitely an old favorite and a must-do for us each trip.
Plus, with rumors swirling that it might be going away, I need to enjoy it while I can.

And we walked though the castle to check out some of this beautiful mural
I can't remember if it was the KTTK tour or the MTTMK tour that talked about this mural,
but I've been wanting to get a closer look ever since.

It was on the MTTMK tour, I remember being told about the gold leaf on their and tributes to imagineers that designed the park.

Once everyone got moving again, we completely lost sight of the kids
and my mom and I leisurely strolled into Pandora.
For anyone who's never done this, this pic was taken at 8:29 am..

While everyone else went to ride FoP, my mom and I walked straight to NRJ, because why not?

BON VOYAGE!



Back at the resort, we changed into our bathing suits and hung around the pool for a bit.
I also threw in a couple loads of laundry since we would be gone for another week
and I wanted to start the cruise with mostly clean clothes.
I think this makes me weird, but having the least amount of dirty laundry
when we come home from vacation is always my goal.
This is easy when we stay DVC because even if we're in a studio, the washers and dryers are free.
Having the washer and dryer right in the room in a 1-Bedroom is like a dream come true for me

The washers and dryers at POFQ are conveniently located right near the pool area
and there were plenty of them.
Since we had already decided to just relax at the resort,
I was able to just throw in a couple loads and sit by the pool while they washed, etc.

Lucky for you, I did not take pictures of the laundry room

However, I did take lots of pics around POFQ that day. We were just really loving it here











Our building, Number 2. We were all the way at the end which is still a very short walk from everything.


We ended up getting dinner right at the resort and then poked around a bit in the gift shop.



It was such a gorgeous evening and on our way back to the room I took these photos...





I think it was at this moment that I knew I had to come back and stay here again.

And if everything works out, we will be there soon!
I have my mom, Allie, my great-niece and myself booked there for a week next October!
This will be my niece's first trip to WDW and we are all so excited to bring her.
She has been obsessed lately with Frozen and loves singing all the songs
and is already planning to go see Frozen 2 at the theater when it comes out.
She will be so much fun to bring to WDW next year if it all works out



We went back to the room and started packing up. We are always super sad to be leaving WDW

The WDW portion of our trip was ending , but we were all so excited because the next day we would be boarding the Fantasy for a 7-night cruise to the Eastern Caribbean 🏝



If you care to sail along with us, I'd love to have you all join me for that portion of our trip.
But I think I'm going to put it over on the cruise trip report page because that just makes more sense.

When I get it going, I'll come post the link here.

I love this too. That's why it's always nice to do St Pete after Disney because I can do laundry at Joe's parent's condo anytime!!!!

I think it was at this moment that I knew I had to come back and stay here again.

I LOVE this resort Kelly!!! We are staying here again in January!!!!

We love POFQ, such a lovely quiet resort and one of the nicest as far as size goes!

I am excited to hear about your cruise. I want to do a Disney Cruise in the next couple years and I love to hear about them!

No. I get it. I typically will wait until I'm home, but... it sure makes for an unpleasant welcome home, you know?
And... instead of doing whites and then colours/darks... you can do them all at the same time by using more than one machine.

Having the washer and dryer right in the room in a 1-Bedroom is like a dream come true for me

I actually considered getting a 1-bedroom just for that... but couldn't justify the cost, just for a washer/dryer that I might not even use.

I think the discussion came up about whether or not we should go to DS or even go see Yee-Haw Bob over at POR but everyone was comfortable and just wanted to hang out and so that's just what we did

I love that Disney offers so many options!

I wore those shoes all summer and whenever anyone comments on them,
it brings me back to that rainy day in AK.

sigh.. such a cool memory.

That is the perfect setting to take photos- empty parks!
