French Pavilion Eats

I'm in charge of making all reservations for our group, and my parents have said that they want to eat at one of the French restaurants in Epcot. Which one would you recommend, and why? Money / credits isn't an issue at all, so please don't factor that in.

I love the Boulangerie for the pastries but that is more 'snack' like. They do have some sandwiches and cheese plates but it would be a counter service meal to eat here.

I ate at Chefs de France last fall and did not particularly like it. It was ok and a plain sort of restaurant with a plain menu and the food tasted very...plain. It wasn't awful, but nothing remarkable.

Years ago, I ate at the Bistro and it was good - but that was a LONG time ago so you should get recommendations from someone who has dined recently.

But if I were taking my parents out to dinner, I would choose the Bistro!

If money is no issue, then Bistro is the place to go. It's easily the best table service option inside the Epcot gates.

The menu is creative, the service is fantastic and attentive, and the food is delicious. It's really hard to go wrong in the place.

I just looked at allearsnet.com and compaired the two menus, and I have to agree. The other place looks... very americanized, while Bistros menu looked interesting. Thanks for the imput!

I tend to concur with the above opinions of the food.

As to the atmospheres, Chefs De France is bright and bustling; it makes me feel like I'm in a Paris Bistro. The Bistro de Paris on the otherhand has understated elegance; it's more relaxing.

1) Pick the Bistro.
2) It is arguably the 2nd best eatery in WDW, next to V&A.

Note: Bistro is upstairs in France. It is a very typical
French eatery - cultured, polite, sedate, slow. Although no
children menu, they allow kid's pasta dishes. An excellent
choice for fine dining. As a side note, avoid the snails, as
WDW has changed to Indonesian snails.

As long as you don't have any young children I highly reccomend Bistro- if you have children you would need to know how they behave and if they can handle being quiet fcor a 2-3 hour meal. The food there is delicious but it is a very adult atmosphere and they don't offer a children's menu - they may accomidate them but you will be seated away from the main area of the restaurant with children from what I have observed.
