Freeway confusion!!

Hi all, looking at a freeway map of LA, there is a section of the I5 that appears to be very confusing? We need to use this freeway to travel from Newport Beach to Valencia but it appears to stop and start in the middle at one section, is it easy to follow or do you actually come off this freeway before entering it again?

Think we might ask for the Neverlost sat nav system in our rental car

You won't actually have to get off the freeway, but you will go through some interchanges. Just watch the signs and make sure you're in the proper lane.
