Hey all. I received a light bulb in the mail today. Had to be from signing up here, but I definately do not recall signing up for it! It is a twisty shaped, energy saving light bulb. Anyone have a clue what I'm talking about??

Its a CFL lightbulb...those rock! great freebie! they are pretty expensive in the store but they last like 5 years. thats all i have in my house now!

no prob! haha about al gore! seriously, those things are great. its saves a bunch on electricity. they also arent as hot. my bathrooms used to be blazing hot (hollywood lights...yuck) now they stays nice and cool !

It seems there are few teachers on here. I am not a teacher. But I know you guys do not ever get enough thanks or the credit you deserve. So, I will say thanks to you for teaching our children. My DS is going to UC right now to become a Special Ed teacher.

I know this is the freebie board... but I can't pass up the opportunity to say THANKS.

I got them for that reason but changed back because they made my hair look green. Did you find it distorted the color of things?

Tell DS I am glad to hear he is going to be a Special Education teacher.
They say it takes special people to becomea speicl Ed teacher and it is the truth. I presently work with Special Ed children at the preschool level. I use to work at a High school. I miss the high school kids, but preschoolers are so much more on my level. They like Disney characters still, like me!

PudgetteD...in response to your question about the sharps container. My DD is a juvenile diabetic. We have found Disney to be very accommodating in regards to the disposal of her syringes. All of the First Aid centers in the parks have sharps disposals. We usually put her syringes in a plastic zip top bag and drop them of at the first aid center when we get to the park. They will also provide you with a room to test your sugars or inject the insulin. If your DH should experience an insulin reaction, the centers have plenty of Powerade on hand so there is no need for you to go and purchase a drink for him. They do distort colors. I put them in my kitchen, and while I think they do save some money they make things look green. The day I put them in I made pork chops for dinner, and I thought that the meat had gone bad because it looked a little green!

I just thought the "after considerable testing" part was funny. How do you get to be a slipper tester? Sounds like a good job to have...walking around all day in slippers and getting paid.

I think they're for the slippers that construction workers and real estate people put over their shoes when they go through houses so they don't track anything in. But I could be wrong.
