Freebie Thread For The Week Of 6/18/07

Thank you. :surfweb: This is actually a great distraction for me right now. I am wired. My DH was cycling yesterday when someone made a left hand turn in front of him. He flew over the hood and landed on his head (thank god for helmets). He was knocked out for 15-20 minutes. Everything is OK - CT scan and x-ray were negative. The guy who hit him was cited, "Failure to yield to a cyclist". Fine of $35.00.:sad2:

Anyhow, I am sitting here in bed watching him breathe and thankful that we still have him with.

Now I must try to sleep...

Thank goodness he is ok. :grouphug: My thoughts are with you both

Good Morning,

OK, I did sleep (a little).:coffee:

DH slept well, but he did wake up with a very nasty black eye. :magnify: Thanks for all your kind thoughts.:thanks: Kids are officially on Summer Vacation. My DS (10)'s first words to me this morning were "Mom, what are we going to do today?" :scratchin "Clean your room":rotfl2: Niether kid liked that idea. I'm heading out to AC Moore (Disney Scrapbook paper is on sale) and so are the Klutz books (I LOVE them-for the kids I mean :rolleyes1 - really)

Hey DB, how's your little bean? I watched all day with anticipation when she was born. The pics were great.

And now back to your regularly scheduled program...

My first contribution,

Or maybe not:rolleyes1

Hope this works, I think I need to get to 20 posts to include links, right?

So is there a way around marking your spot? I love checking out the freebies and I know that it can get really, really long. :) I just keep the page up when I close my internet and it lets me go back there when I relog in.

OMG!!! I'll say a little prayer for you and your family today! Soo glad he's gonna be ok!

 SO glad he is okay other than a couple bumps and bruises!

My boss doesn't feel that he *needs* to wear his helmet when biking with his kids. It is a weekly argument now that it is nice out. At least your DH has the brains to use a helmet!!!

If my DH hadn't been wearing his helmet he would have had a *very* serious brian injury. Even with his helmet he was knocked out for 15-20 minutes. I don't understand people (especially those with kids) who would risk this by not wearing a helmet.

A teacher at my kids' school (elementary) rides around town without a helmet (we live in a small town so everyone knows everyone). The kids look up to this guy as he is considered one of the cool teachers -:furious:

What kind of role model is he...

Wow, I'm glad he's all right because that sounds like it could have been a lot worse than it ended up being (and as for the other driver..$35 is a joke...I hope he at least put a nice dent in their hood so when they have to call their insurance company they can be embarassed when they describe what happened)

I agree with Mr DB! Glad DH is okay - you know those Boston drivers are maniacs!!;)

When I first came to Boston (from Canada) I had my "Let's Go" USA. Under Boston drivers it listed them as "Homocidal or Suicidal":lmao:

I finally learnt how to drive here. (I was 25yrs:blush:) Now whenever I go home (to Ottawa) I have to remember to re-ajust my "driving ediquette":rolleyes1

My sister is always freaking out when she comes to visit and drives with me. She doesn't understand the "driving with verve" or the "mass merge":rotfl2:

Moving from California to Tennesse was quite the difference also but only so much because of the amount of Semi Trucks we have going through Knoxville...
