Free Segway

Is there still the five minute free segway test ride offered in Epcot? I would like to try it but don't have time for the entire tour ride.

In Innoventions (I forget whether East or West) you can try out the Segway. They have you sit through a quick info session, sign a waiver, and then you get to try one for a quick spin. Not long, but DH and I really enjoyed trying it out in October!

Ther are now using the gen 2, they are a bit harder to use than the gen 1.
I have a gen 1 and got on ok, but it was a lot different.

I can't remember what the age restriction was for the free ride but I'm guessing it's the same as for the regular tour: minimum of 16 years old and for anyone under 18, a parent must be present to sign the consent form. There is also a weight restriction of 250 pounds.

And I agree that the Gen 2 Segway is more difficult. Instead of just worrying about being in balance front to back, you now must keep your weight balanced left and right as well. But thanks to an excellent instructor, everyone in our group did really well.

I've been on the 'Around the World on a Segway' twice and enjoyed it. I heard somewhere that they are supposed to start a new tour using the new ATV Segway out at Ft Wilderness. Has anyone else heard anything about when or if it's supposed to start?
