Hello,

Does anyone know if any of the resorts still offer free tours? I see that they list the Boardwalk Ballyhoo tour on the WDW website under tours, but none of the others. I had read that these tours existed at the Grand Floridian, WL, AKL, and YC as well. I called the GF & AKL and the people I spoke to had no idea what I was talking about.
Does anyone who's stayed recently at GL, WL, AKL or YC know if they still offer tours?

Thanks in Advance!

Yes, all resorts offer tours IF there is a CM available to give one. We have done a tour of every resort on property except AoA but that is on the agenda next trip. Wilderness lodge has been our favorite so far.

And when you called the GF and AKL you weren't actually talking to someone at either resort. You were talking to someone at a Call Center which is why they had no idea what you were talking about. They will answer the phone like they are at the resort as they can tell what resort you're trying to call by what number you dialed. Even when you hit the "Front Desk" button on the phone in your room your call goes to the Call Center.

Are these scheduled for a certain day(s) and time(s), or do you just ask at the front desk and if someone is available they will take you?

Thanks!

I remember the Wilderness Lodge had set start times. All the others I remember just asking and being told when to come back or if a CM was available starting it right then and there.

get the activites list - they use to be on that thing. BC/YC did a garden tour - so did OKW it stopped.

Yes, WL does have a set time, and day. I believe the time is 9:00 AM, but maybe 10:00. It's not daily. I know DH did it on our departure day while DGD and I packed the bags. We had gotten late check out so he could complete the tour while we packed, which is why I think it may have started around 10:00.

The Wilderness Lodge "Wonders of the Lodge" tour is Wednesday-Sunday at 9:00 AM(meet at the fireplace).:)

AoA does a Tour daily at 12:30 PM(meet by the Children's area in the Lobby).:)

The BWI Tour is Wednesday-Thursday-Friday at 9:00 AM(meet at Belle Vue Lounge).:)

Wilderness Lodge and Boardwalk are the only 2 that now do it. Also AKL has a great restaurant tasting tour in the afternoons :) Goes through Jiko and Boma! And there is a drawing class at AoA that we enjoyed as well!

My parents did tours at Pop, POR, GF and Contemporary in September. :confused3

Wow! I've stayed at POR & GF, returning to GF for 3rd visit this August and never knew either had tours! I have done the WL tour.

I "think" WL,BWI and AoA are the only Resorts currently with regularly scheduled "RESORT" tours.

Front Desk CMs at any Resort will take Guests on a tour of a "ROOM" if requested by a Guest and they are not presently occupied.:)

When my parents asked for a tour at POP, POR and Contemporary it was more than a tour of a room. Each one took at least an hour, included a tour of the entire resort with information about the resort such as the back story, when it was built, when was the last refurb, etc.

I loved the Wonders of the Lodge tour, and was lucky enough to have Ranger Stan as our tour guide.

Awesome-it really is a great Resort Tour-we hope to do the BWI one next trip.:)

Ranger Stan is at the TOP of the list of All-Time CMs along with Art The Greeter!:)
