Day 7- MK
Breakfast-AOA- 8 am
We decide to try AOA for breakfast. It was a quick walk over b/c our room was near the bridge. Again, there were no crowds and check out was really fast. I wonder if any other POP guests thought to eat over here?
DD15 got some oatmeal and the very sweet CM put raspberries on it in the shape of Mickey's body. DD loved it and it was one snack credit. DD11's breakfast was a waffle with fruit and bacon. This wasn't any different than POP's.
DH and I split the steak and egg burger. It was delicious! It was a steakburger on I think a wheat bun with an egg, cheese and bacon. Normally I would not like a burger for breakfast but this was very good and I hungry from not having a good meal the night before at SS. It also came with hash browns. We picked up some drinks too. They had smoothies, but we were told they were considered a snack credit, not a drink. Oh well, we thought we'd ask b/c at CBR in 2009 they were a drink. Anyway, it was a great breakfast and there was plenty for everyone. The burger was huge. We left and used AOA bus to MK for our last day!
Lunch -Captain Cooks at the POLY-1 PM
I had the idea to eat at the Poly for lunch and ride the monorail. Well, when we got over to the station they said the monorail was closed and directed us to a boat. It was really hot and the boat had no air conditioning, it was out in the open. It seemed like it took a long time to get to the poly b/c we had to stop at the GF.
CC was much smaller than I had imagined and there were only a few tables. We did like the kiosk ordering, though. We split a few meals. The two turkey club sandwiches with multigrain bread were fresh and cold. Just what we need ed after being on that hot boat! It came with sides so we had fries and a side of a veg. DD11 chose a brownie that was just ok and dd15 got a dole whip which she loved. We also had a chicken sandwich with pineapple on it. It looked good, but I didn't like it that much. I think we also had some chips and a piece of chocolate cake. It just seemed too hot to eat much that day. If I had known the monorail was broken I would not have left the park to eat there. Luckily, we were able to ride it on the way back, although we were really scared we would be stuck somewhere like some of the stories I have heard recently on the Dis.
Dinner- Pecos Bill-7:15 PM
The lines and wait time were really long here. I had a taco salad which I have always wanted to try. I would not get it again b/c the meat didn't have much flavor and I didn't like that I had to get my own shredded lettuce and tomatoes from the fixings bar. I had to cut the tomatoes, too. The dressing they had out was italian. I usually put french or thousand island dressing on my taco salad. I don't know why they had italian. The girls ordered a burger and a bbq pork sandwich and had corn with it. It was ok but dd15 said she thought the burger was better last time. DH had to order the most expensive meal there- it was steak, corn bread, corn, and I think some other side. It was not on the big menu, only a small photo by the cashier and it was about $13. Anyway, if you order this you have a longer wait time b/c they have to cook the steak to order. It was a good meal DH says. We had choc. and carrot cakes for dessert but sadly ended up throwing away two of them the next day b/c we were leaving and they needed refridgerated. The choc. frosting is really good!
That night we bought some snacks for the next day. In the bakery we snagged the last cinnamon roll and at the candy shop we had a choc. covered pretzel with nuts, a smore candy, 2 unicorn lollipops and a mickey rice crispy. The freshly made candy was so yummy. I wish we had bought more.
Next review will be our morning before leaving POP!
