FREE POP Fridge Swap! Fridge lost in 2010. Anyone interested in starting over?

Hi, just to let you know in my swap (3 yrs old.) we never did get a new box but someone in my swap covered the entire box with duct tape. It's holding together pretty well. I saw it last Sept. and from the pix I got in May it looks the same. Maybe that will work for you as well. (Click on my link in siggie to see pix of it)

FYI, from when I started mine in Aug. 06 we've had several different fridges. (Once we even had the larger one and it was great-I got to use it in 2007 ) When our's went MIA POP would replace it with another that was unclaimed. This happened many times until sometime last year. Now we have had the same one for about a year now. We haven't had a problem with locating our fridge for at least a year .

However, we have lost items that were inc. with it but in separate boxes. Toasters, coffee makers, table fan ( I added one last year and it only made it through a few swaps)., etc. For now we have a toaster, and some plates and bowls-there are staying with the fridge because they are being packed inside of it.

One thing I added to my fridge last year, and one of my swappers put on a new one in May, was a list of all my upcoming swappers taped to the outside of the fridge along with something that said "This is the Dizneydaz swap. If you don't see your name on this list and you're not in this swap, you have the wrong fridge. Please return to Luggage Services so the person who is on this list will be able to get it. " I don't know if that has helped, but we haven't lost it since then. I will be bringing a new list with me in 6 weeks with new swappers on it.

Hope your swap lives long! This Sept. will be my fourth time using it. And most of the swaps before me will be in person so the chances of anything going wrong are minimal.

Thanks so much for the advice and tips! We'll probably have to do the duct tape thing, I doubt anyone is going to lug a giant box with them on vacation. Thanks again!

We really need to fill this gap and we've only got 2 days to do it before the current swapper leaves! The gap is over 7 days so I'm worried about what will happen to the fridge being left in storage that long! The swapper we had for the first week in August quit responding to any pm's and did not share their information with the swapper at Disney now so I had to remove them from the list.

Just wanted to let you know that we just placed an order for some supplies at wegoshop yesterday and plan on ordering a coffeemaker (we're flying so can't bring with us.) My inlaws really like their coffee and do not like the disney quick coffee. We will leave it with the fridge. I sure hope that it fits inside the fridge to store. Hopefully, it doesn't get lost in storage this week and we still have a fridge!

I'd like to get someone in September to cover the box in duct tape. The entire box needs to be covered to preserve it since it doesn't appear that the box will be replaced. This is VERY important to ensure the future of our swap! Can anyone volunteer to do this?

Sounds like a good job for my DH! I think I could fit some duct tape in the suitcase and do this. I have some neon green duct tape I could add to it also. I will take a pic when we are done.
