So this was my first trip to Disney World. I rented a car and knew ahead of time the it was $17 to park. I got lost finding the Magic Kingdom parking lot. Than I came across a sign that said 'Magic Kingdom Parking Next Left' so I took the next left whick took me to the parking lot but if I looked to my right I had bypassed the pay plaza. After I parked I ask one of the guys directing cars in the parking lot where I needed to pay at. He looked confused and I told him how I got in and he kinda chuckled and said 'don't worry about since your already in' lol. Wow!

It's a hidden perk for lost people ;) and guests who enter from behind MK and GF. Anyone who leaves from Contemporary, Poly, or GF can enter the MK parking lot with the directions you described.

But don't you have to go through the MK tollbooth to get to Contemporary, Poly or GF? Which means you've either already paid, or you've told them you're a guest staying at one of the monorail resorts (which means you already have free parking for staying on site)?

I have an AP so I get free parking anyway, but this has me curious how you get to the resorts without going through tollbooths.

There are several legitimate ways into the MK that take you this route. First, as you mentioned, you can go through the toll booth letting the attendant know you are headed to the Contemporary, GF or Poly. Perhaps you have a dining reservation before heading into the parks. When you leave the resort and head to the TTC you will have already bypassed the toll booth.

Second, if you are headed to MK from the north side of the park this route also bypasses the toll booth. If you are in the Winter Garden or Windermere area and you map directions to the MK this is exactly how Google tells you to enter. Going any other way from this area would take you out of your way.

Third, I often find myself driving north on Bonnet Creek Parkway, left on Vista, and then make a right on World Drive. This also bypasses the toll booth and is a legitimate route coming from the Ft. Wilderness area or the golf course.

I often wonder why they don't just move the toll booth closer to the actual TTC parking lots.
