Hi All!

Just wanted to share some good news that I received this week about my upcoming trip to Universal which I think will help some of you.

Back in October 14 I had booked a 3 night stay at RPR and a 2 day Park-to-Park ticket for Universal which was all good... About a month or two later they updated the promotion stating when you buy 2 day park-to-park get upgraded to a 3 day for free. I wasn't happy about it but hey what can you do, thats life.... So this gets me to my point

This week Universal called to confirm the reservation and make sure I didn't have any questions about my upcoming stay... which i did ... one question to be exact lol

I asked if I could get in with the free 3 day park-to-park upgrade but he kindly rejected my idea. I asked him to check just to be sure and when he did he advised it would be possible but for a small fee since the price of normal admission increased...

After being on hold for a few minutes he comes back with....

"Due to a glitch in the system, I am able to upgrade to a 3day park-to-park and there will be no fee at this time." He stated that because the pricing had not been updated on their packages in the system he could change it free of charge... A few minutes later he sent new travel doc's and i Confirmed we got the upgrade for Free...

Just an FYI for everyone out their who maybe able to get this same upgrade I did.

Hope it helps, thanks Dis'ers!

ok, you booked a package in 10/14 that included hotel & tickets. a month or two later a new or 'updated' promotion came out that you felt was a better deal for you.

I'm curious if you called & asked at that time if you could switch to the new promotion without penalty? If so, were you told 'no'?

Can't say I'm familiar with the packages, as I've always found pricing the components out separately to be more cost effective, but would think they would allow one to modify (vs outright cancel) an existing reservation to take advantage of a different promotion as seems to be common in the Orlando area.

Regardless, I think it is a nice touch that they called you recently to confirm the reservation and it worked out for you.

When the promotion had changed in 2014 i never called because I assumed the aswer would be no anyway. When they called to confirm my reservation last week is when i decided to give it a try. I usually peice my trips together to as that typically is the most economical. However, after exhausting all options the price booking the package was only about 20$ more expensive and ill pay for convience any day.

ok thank you for that clarification.

You did score! based upon what I found when curiously looking up the terms & conditions of the packages (see below)!

Upon a quick glance, quite surprised to find the stated terms are very restrictive, with change fees imposed for the hotel portion & ticket purchases a final transaction.
