FREE paper towels and toilet paper???

OK, so on all these couponing shows and sites you see these people with HUGE stockpiles of FREE toilet paper and paper towels? How on earth do they do this? The most I can find is a 50 cent off coupon - MAYBE $1.00. I don't see how they do this.

You have to stack a coupon with a good sale. (I'm not sure I've ever gotten it for FREE though.) If you have a store that doubles or triples coupons then you probably could get it for free.

I got a bunch of tp for free a few months ago when marcal had coupons for either 1 roll free of $1.00 off a multipe pack.

Not free but I got 6 rolls of scott paper towels at walgreens for $2.50 this week.

I'm a couponer & blogger & I have only found the low qualityTP {ie, one-ply} for free. I have got jumbo packs for just a few bucks though Like a previous poster mentioned about the paper towels, you can get a 6-pack of Scott Naturals at Walgreens this week for $2.50 each after stacking coupons {using a store coupon with a manufacturers coupon}. Most stores are probably sold out where the sale ends today, but if you want to try it here's what you do:

The only store that double or triples coupons near me is the MOST expensive store in town. So, not sure if that would even be worth it. I mostly shop at Super Walmart and they don't.

Back in January Rite Aid had free toilet paper and tissue. Buy the item for 99 cents and receive the 99 cents back on the bottom of your receipt to turn around and get another pack. I built up a pretty good stockpile on that sale, as there were no limits on how much you could get. last year at CVS their red coupon machine was spitting out coupons for 1.00 off the CVS brand toilet paper. Two rolls of Toilet paper were 1.00, so you could get two rolls with every coupon. I personally havent spent "real money" on either paper towels of toilet paper in a couple of years, because I have been able to use the money that I "make" with coupons on buying other products to get what I need for free. However, in general these items are not as plentiful to get for free as say, toothpaste, shampoo etc.

A while back when the Marcal Small Steps line was first introduced, they kept having these "$1 off or 1 Free Roll" (TP) coupons. I remember getting about 10 free rolls.

Another time, Viva paper towels had an 85 cents off 1 roll. My store doubles up to 99 cents. The Viva towels were $1.60 roll, so I got a few free rolls that way.

I guess if I was using a coupon clipping service or if I were able to get multiple Sunday inserts, I could have had my apartment filled with free TP and PTs!

I don't order from the clipping services, but I do get 3 papers on Sunday. And I can very rarely find very good deals on TP and paper towels. Even when combined with a sale, I find savings on those items to be average. I am brand loyal though on paper products - there are only a few brands I will buy.

I genernally use CVS bucks and combine with coupons. I usually can get toothbrushes, shampoo, deodrant really cheap with coupons that offered CVs back. I use the CVS bucks to buy the paper products and milk products.

you really have to watch for sales, and go from there.

You have to look for sales buy what is on sale and use a coupon that you have saved and waited to use until the sale.

This is harder to do if you are brand loyal, like us and will only use Charmin Soft and Bounty paper towels.

That is the key. We only use Scotts for the septic and Bounty for towels. Other paper towels are garbage.

In Feb. Jewel/Adolfsons had a rebate: buy $25 of paper products get a $25 Visa card.

Using the coupons I had on hand, I bought over $60 worth (all TP plus 2 boxes of facial tissues to bring the after coupon total to just over $25 on each transaction).

Out of pocket expense was two stamps to mail in the rebate and less than a dollar (couldn't make the total come out to exactly $25 on the nose).

That was a LOT of TP. But at that price, I had room to store it.

I am not an extreme couponer.. dont have enough time to get into all you have to do, but I do go to my two grocery stores and CVS every week and get 50-70% off retail with The Grocery Game! Google it or go to the .com. They have a list specific to your area that matches coupons to sales and put it in a database to help save on groceries. In places that there is double couponing the deals are pretty good!

On average what I usually pay for toilet paper is about $5.00 for 12 rolls of Scott. Coffee I spend usually under $2.00 for Folgers (the small can). I have gotten tons of free stuff at CVS after coupons and extracare bucks!

Our Krogers doubles coupons up to .50, and coupons between .50 and $1 are $1.

They have Cottonelle toilet paper for $1 a roll.

There used to be Cottonelle TP coupons in both the papers and online for .50/roll. Double that, and it's $1/roll.

Can you say "free toilet paper?"

The coupon queens used to come into Krogers with handfuls of Cottonnelle coupons and wipe out the shelves.

Cottonelle got wise to it...instead of .50/1, their coupons are now $1 for 2 rolls.

I've gotten toilet paper and paper towels before for free, but not recently though. You just need to wait until you have a coupon, then wait for that brand to go on sale.
