Be part of holiday parade broadcast
As promised in the fall edition of Vacation Magic magazine, Disney Vacation Club Members will have an opportunity to be on hand as television crews tape segments for this year's "Walt Disney World Christmas Day Parade" broadcast on ABC.
Disney Vacation Club Members will gather in a reserved viewing section on Dec. 1* from 7 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at the Castle Stage in the Magic Kingdom® Park, where crews will tape Disney characters and celebrity guests performing festive production numbers.
Here's what you need to do. Visit www.dvcmember.com to register your party to participate in this event. (Act quickly, as space is limited.) Then, print out your registration information as prompted on the site. Present that printout to the Cast Member at the Magic Kingdom toll plaza on Dec. 1 to receive complimentary parking, and then proceed to the Audience Check-In area at the Park's far-right turnstiles. There, organizers will confirm that your party is on the sign-up list, grant you complimentary admission into the Park and direct you to your viewing section.
(If you're unable to take part in this taping, note that every Guest with paid Magic Kingdom admission will have the opportunity to enjoy general segment tapings at various times until 3 p.m. on Dec. 1* and 2*.)
Vacation Magic wants you to look and feel your best in front of the cameras, so we've gathered a few tips from producers to get you ready for the big day. First, be sure to wear casual, comfortable clothing, as organizers ask that you be in place for the entire taping (even during those brief production breaks). Wear bright colors * especially holiday colors * and avoid any items that include logos or advertising. (Of course, Disney logos are perfectly acceptable, so break out your Disney Vacation Club couture!) Finally, producers encourage children ages 10 or younger to wear their favorite Disney character costumes, and they encourage Guests of all ages to wear festive holiday clothing and hats.
Enjoy the show!
*Taping dates are subject to change, so be sure to watch www.dvcmember.com for updates.
