Do you get free laundry use if you are renting points for DVC? I know of course if you are in an actual bedroom unit theres a washer/dryer in it, but what about a studio? And also, how does DVC keep out others who are just staying at the resort from using the free laundry facilities? I know this past May I had to use my KTTW card just to get into the laundry facilities at CBR.

I believe anybody staying at a DVC resort in a studio can use the common laundry rooms. I think I recall having to use my room key to get into the laundry room.

We stayed at OKW in June for one night on a cash stay in a studio. I was very surprised and delighted to find there was no charge for the common laundry washer and dryers. It was a room next to one of the quiet pools. I'd gone in to find out how much to use the dryer (I just wanted to dry our wet swimsuits/clothes so I could pack) and there were no signs, etc. The coin slots looked like they were filled with something, so gave it a try and it worked.

I've assumed it was that way for all DVC, although I wonder if it might only be for DVC only places like OKW and SSR? Does anyone know?

BTW - I didn't have to use a room key at all - even to go into the building.

For the resorts that are attached to regular cash resorts, the DVC laundry room almost always requires the use of a key card. And yes, they are free washers and dryers.

At OKW, they rarely use the door locks, as the entire resort is DVC villas and there are no washers/dryers that require the use of coins.

Just as a side note: at VGC you have to get the coins from the front desk as the machines there are coin-operated.
