Free fridge at deluxes!

I read a thread on the resorts board that one can get a fridge inroom at no charge in deluxes. I guess since Disney is working to get them installed in all deluxes (and moderates?), they won't be charging for these, at least at the deluxes. I just contacted my DU TA and she discovered this is true so we now have a fridge added to our room reservations at no charge. Thought I'd share the news that now you don't have to wait for Disney to get them in all rooms to get this for free!

Hi LISAZOE I remember your sweet baby girl in your siggie from other post about the WL . Did you do the Concierge? I had told you I was doing it and I loved it the last tme I did it .
Just wondering if you ever made your choice ? I think you are going around the time we are .

We're in a savannah view at AKL 9/14-9/17 then over to a woods view at WL 9/17-9/22. I couldn't justify the added cost of concierge for just DD and me - at least not this trip. In fact, I'm starting to have "buyer's remorse" and have considered changing to Pop for the stay to save the money. We'll probably stick to what is reserved now, though, as I really think they'll be better for us.

I remember seeing your cutie in several threads also. Will it just be the two of you on your trip? Sometimes I think traveling with just DD is easier as I don't have other adults whose plans I have to include in our trip Have a great time!

No that is my Nephew in the pic . I took him there last year and this trip is with my MIL,FIL, DH and myself only . All adult trip this time. I will be going back for 3 nights and 4 days with him in Dec. just he and I .
I think you made a great choice for your hotels . I have never done AKL but it looks beautiful ! I want to do it soon. You will love being able to hop the boat over to the MK !!

LisaZoe, that is too funny about your "buyer's remorse." I did the same thing.. .my initial ressies were at the Poly, then I changed them to AKL, then I finally changed them to POFQ! ROTFLMAO! I am sure gonna miss the Poly. . .

Thanks so much for the info. on the refrigerators. We're staying at the Animal Kingdom Lodge in November and were going to use ice budkets to keep things cold. I know you said something about buyers regret and wanting to change to something cheaper. My advice is to definately stay with the Animal Kingdom Lodge. It's worth every penny. We can't imagine not staying there. The animals are so wonderful and the resort is so beautiful. You'll really enjoy it. It's almost like being at another Walt Disney World Park. Be sure to save a day in you vacation to just walk around and enjoy the animals. Have fun!

Thank you so much for the info about the free fridge! I just called and got one for myself and one for my parents room for AKL!!! The CM I spoke to did not know about the free fridge and had to ask his manager. Thanks again for the great info!!!

I was so excited when I read the thread of this rumor on the resorts board and found it was true that I wanted to spread the word. Now I just need to figure out a good way to move the refrigerated food from one resort to the other since we're splitting our stay.

I'm very glad this information has helped! I know I don't check all the DIS boards so thought some people may not have seen the other thread. It definitely seems to fit the "budget" topic for this thread

BTW - While my "penny pinching" side wants to save the $$ by switching to a value resort - even if I hhave to pay for a fridge , my indulgent side is winning still so AKL and WL are still on the vacation plans. I consider these resorts as a kind of compromise since I was really wanting to stay at the Poly or CR.

Great news about the frig.!!! Thanks for the post. We'll be splitting our stay on our next trip (BC & Polynesian). I think I'll pack my collabsable cooler to transport the cold stuff between resorts.

I called twice to change my reservation, the first time the rep claimed she knew nothing adn went so far to say that the boards sometimes put untrue posts, the second time the rep was much nicer. The Disney agent told me that if the installation is not complete at my resort (AKL-Savanah 11/14-11/20) that then I could go to the front desk and tell them I want it for free, but until then (time of check in), It is still reserved on my confirmation at $10/day. ::
