Free Disney Dining

Hello,

I'm trying to go through all of the possibilities and what if's whilst giving my DH a budget, and i am wondering if anyone knows if you book with Disney (even disney international) and they offer the Free Disney Dining during your stay, if you have already booked the Disney dining plan on your vacancy would you qualify to recieve the dining plan for free

If you were already booked then you would have to call back and mention the code to have your reservation converted to a free dining package. There are a limited number of packages with free dining so it is not an automatic feature added to your trip.

I am not sure what the uK guidelines are .But here in the US, you can have the free dining credited to your account, if there are free dining rooms available at your particualr resort choice, for the dates you have chosen.There are a finite number of special free dining promotional rooms per resort and resort room category.

You might ask over on the UK board - they are wondering about the Free Dining already showing up for next year (2009) for UK Res through Virgin - also someone there could probably tell you what happened when they booked through WDW and FD opened later:

Looking on the Virgin website for next Sept, if you select a moderate hotel or above it offers you the Counter service dining plan free.

Do we think this is the start of free dining? or an error on the website?

Yeah i'll have a look see, i think the DH has made the final decision to book through Disney Travel international, book the dining plan then if they announce that it is free next year during the time we are going, we'll ring up and put ourselves down for it.

I've booked through the UK site for December this year and on the back of my confirmation the small print says that any promotions available at a later date CANNOT be applied to your booking. Virgin will be offering free dining between Aug 12th and Sept 29th next year. This offer can't be booked until the 25th of this month though, so I'd imagine WDTC will have the offer available on the 25th too. Can you wait that long to book?

Thats good to know, as we'll be booking on the 28th, so i'll have to ask them about the dining and then just pay for the 29th - 2nd oct. Got to love anything that saves you money

I wonder if i'll be able to do the disney dining from 18th - 29th Sep 09 and then just pay for the remaining 3 days we'll be there, hmmmmmm will have to ask them

You should get free dining until you check out. As long as you've checked in by the last day of the offer, it'll be valid for your whole stay

If that same rule stands for 09, i'll be in heaven, you've really made my day, i might even be able to sneak flight upgrades onto the holiday now as my DH wont notice the price difference.

where did you find this out I was told by someone at first choise that the free dining will be released on the 20th august for travel starting 9th august 2009 just wondering because we want to go from the 9th

I didn't realise first choice offered the free dining as well i thought it was just Virgin and Walt Disney Travel Company. Have you had a look at the latter as we got a lower quote from them, than from First Choice

All travel companys can offer it thats why virgin often offer a few free nights aswell our quote for y&b was pretty much the same from all the companys we tried

Ok so i've just spoken to both virgin and the walt disney travel company, neither conversation was particularly helpful, the man at virgin didnt seem to know, asked a colleague who said something about it was happening on the 25th and the lady at the walt disney world travel company couldnt offer me any information on either the free dining or whether or not you could upgrade your flight with them.

We intend to ring up and book on 26th, so i will keep you posted as to what happens, if you could keep me posted on any progress you make with First Choice that would be brilliant.

Virgin probably won't tell you of any upcoming offers only what they currently have - Virgin staff are quite poor and they are not just booking Disney holidays so will probably only be able to tell you what is on their screen! You will need to keep an eye on the web - as has been posted before the rumoured release date is 20th August.

Also it is worth noting if you are booking through a UK based copmpany you will not be able to add free dining on if you have already booked - the T&C's have always stated new bookings only.

get an interest free credit card you will only have to pay the deposit go through quidco and you can get £10-£30 cash back paying for the 2.5% surcharge hope this helps
