(Free) Disney Dining Defeats Us (with pics)!!! 5/26 Coral Reef, Beaches and Cream

I'm glad you liked Sci-fi! We were there a few weeks ago and loved it! Great reviews and pics!

Next up is WPE for dinner. I was so excited to eat here, that we left DHS for our break and headed here before going back for Fantasmic. I had a very difficult time deciding what I wanted here because it all sounds SO GOOD!

We got there at prime dinner time and it was empty, probably because of the buckets of rain that were coming down all afternoon. And the thunder and lightning. There was no line whatsoever.

I went with the chicken caesar salad and a soda.

It was sooooooooooooooooooooooo delicious! :worship:
There was chicken in every bite. I am a little bit picky with my caesar dressing, but this was great! And that little crispy bread thing was also very good when eaten in conjunction with the salad.

Dh went with the spicy chicken pizza and a soda.
034.jpg

This is one meal where I actually got good comments from him versus just telling me it was good. :lmao: He told me it was "delicious, just hot enough to leave a little burn on the lips...perfect." I also tasted it, and it was DELICIOUS! And I don't really like spicy things. We thought the chicken was going to be seasoned to make it spicy. But it was the red pepper flakes sprinkled on top that gave it the kick. It just tasted so good!

For dessert dh got the creme brulee and I got the chocolate chip cookie.
036.jpg

Both were very good.

We loved it so much here that we make a return trip later in the week. I really hope they keep this counter service on the dining plan!

Great start to your report, can't wait to see more! Glad that you liked Sci-Fi, we are definitely booking it for next year, my DS is all about eating in those cars.

Great start. Like the pic of the cars in Sci Fi. We're eating there in Nov.

I had read so much about the Tonga Toast at Kona, and the fact that you could get it as a CS credit at Captain Cook's. So we decided to hit breakfast here before our MK day.

It was crazy busy at the checkout, but we had no wait ordering on the touch screens.

DH went with the breakfast platter and I went with the Tonga Toast with sausage. We each got two drinks as well as shown.
037.jpg

I LOVED the sausage! It was very tasty. The tonga toast on the other hand...was just okay. It was A LOT of bread. It was very sweet. I could only eat half of it and was stuffed. I tasted dh's bacon and potatoes, and they were both yummy.

I really wanted to eat at Cosmic Ray's because I had heard good things about the chicken and ribs platter. So that is what we got to share since we were going to have an early dinner at Crystal Palace.

046.jpg

You can't see the ribs because they are underneath the chicken. Also, I paid for the fries OOP.
This meal was really good for counter service and we were both very impressed! The ribs were great, and much better than the ones we got at ESPN Zone later in the week. I saved the chocolate cake because I was too full, and never ended up eating it.

That picture of Cosmic Rays is cracking me up! DH is a pickle chip fanatic and whenever we go anywhere in WDW that has a topping bar he takes all the pickle chips he can fit on the plate!

We attended the Sept. 12th MNSSHP, and I was lucky to grab a 4:50 p.m. ADR for Crystal Palace.

We checked in right on time and waited maybe 15-20 minutes for a table. Now, right before me a guy scored a walk up and was seated almost right away. I was a little annoyed by that. The place was PACKED! All of the outdoor seating was taken.

Anyway, we were led to our table:

Here's my dh's first place of salad type things. Don't ask me what they are because I don't think I ate any of it! He loved all of them though.
056.jpg

Here's my first plate:
057.jpg

Just salad with cheese and dressing, and that DELICIOUS mediterranean pasta salad that I did get more of! I don't even think I ended up eating the roll.

My next plate:
058.jpg

Starting at the top left, YUMMY turkey (I got more of this too! It had such a good flavor and was very moist.), DELICIOUS mashed potatoes (:goodvibes more of these too!), some kind of pork that was okay, some kind of curly pasta that I didn't like at all, carrots that were very crunchy so I didn't eat them, some kind of chicken that was just okay, and broccoli that was very good!

Dh's second plate:
061.jpg

There were so many desserts to choose from and there was no way I could have even tasted anymore that this!
062.jpg

carrot cake that was very good, and chocolate peanut butter cake that was okay. The cookie was disgusting. It was just a sugar cookie but it didn't taste right.

For some reason I didn't get a picture of dh's dessert, but he loved the whiskey cake. It was in a huge bowl and you scooped it out.

Overall, I would definitely eat here for dinner again! Especially if during free dining. :rotfl2: I don't know if dh would pay $28.99 per person to eat ANYWHERE!

Thanks for the quick links - I love those! :thumbsup2

That said - we were at MNSSHP on 9/12 also! I kinda wish we'd known there was even a prayer of a walk in for CP ... we ended up at Cosmic Rays (why is there so little food service during parties anyway) - burger counter only <eek>

Food, not so good (decent topping bar though) - BFF's DD had a great time at the Stitch Dance Party though :)

Joining in for the food reviews! popcorn::

Thanks!

I like the quick links too...that way you can skip all of the nonsense, and get right to the good stuff!!!:rotfl2:

I saw that Stitch Dance Party going on. It was packed!

I was most excited about this ADR because of all the hype and the inability to book it for most people!

We had never eaten here, so I had no idea what to expect besides a good filet!

At the top of the menu they had a special (taken from allears.net) $29.99:
Appetizers (choose 1)
Mixed Field Greens
Canadian Cheddar Cheese Soup
Spicy Chicken and Chipotle Sausage

Entrées (choose 1)
Salmon "BLT"
Grilled Steak Salad
Porcini Mushroom Ravioli
Caesar Salad with Grilled Chicken
Shaved Prime Rib Sandwich on toasted ciabatta

Desserts (choose 1)
Maple Crème Brulee
Canadian Chocolate Moose
Seasonal Sorbet

Dh decided to do this and I was VERY happy because I was going to order the cheese soup anyway.

So for an appetizer, besides the bread they bring to your table (which I forgot to take a photo of), we had the soup and shared it. Oh how I wish I didn't have to share it! It was soooooooooooooo good! Especially with the pretzel bread dipped in it. The pretzel bread was my favorite of the 3 kinds they brought.

Dh had this:
097.jpg

Porcini Mushroom Ravioli
It must have been good because he ate ALL of it!

I had this:
098.jpg

Mushroom Filet but I swapped out the risotto for cream cheese mashed potatoes which were out of this world! The flavor was so good. Now for all of you on the fence mushroom people, I myself do not eat them! But I gave it a shot and it was great. I think because of the sauce they cook the mushrooms in, they didn't even taste like mushrooms. The steak was so nice and tender and cooked perfectly for me. I ate it ALL, including all of the mushrooms! Minus one piece I let dh try.

Here are our desserts:
099.jpg

Dh got the seasonal sorbet, which was mandarin orange. It was good.
I got the new york style cheesecake with the fruit compote. This was also good, especially the strawberry compote! I could have licked this off the plate! (But I didn't)

Overall, this was my favorite meal of the trip, and our waiter Kurt was very good (not to mention nice to look at!). I believe he has gone back to Canada though because his Visa was up. We definitely will be back assuming we can get ADRs.

I just had to go back here again! There were too many things I the menu that I still wanted to try!

This time though, the line was almost out the door. But the wait was really not that long to get up to order.

This time we went with:
102.jpg

Rigatoni with chicken alfredo
It was very good. The pasta was al dente, there was lots of chicken. It also came with a side salad and we opted for the caesar. (very good)

103.jpg

Meatball and parmesan pizza
It was just okay for me. I didn't really like the meatballs and was kind of disappointed since the spicy chicken pizza had been SO GOOD!

Dessert was a creme brulee for dh and a cookie for me.

I saved my cookie and ended up eating it on the airplane ride home, since USAir now charges $2.00 for a stinkin can of soda and doesn't give a snack!

By this time in the trip, I think all of the rich food was catching up with me. Or maybe it was those meatballs, but I had quite a stomachache and spent some time in te bathroom.

Your pictures look really good! I can't wait for our trip so I can finally try Tutto Itialia and Le Cellier.

Loving your pics! I so agree with you on the cheddar cheese soup and pretzel bread from Le Cellier. I've made the soup at home but I can't get a decent pretzel bread. I CAN'T WAIT for our ADR there!
