:cake: Not sure if this is the right Forum, if not please move. I also tried to find it posted and couldn't (my search never works right that hound dog does not like me!)

I received an email from Disney with this information (I have verified this is open to EVERYONE)

Start your birthday off right with the most magical birthday present of all: free admission on your birthday during 2009 to one of the Theme Parks of Walt Disney World® or Disneyland® Resort*! It's our gift to you and it all begins right here.

To get this wonderful birthday gift for yourself, your children or others in your household, follow these simple steps:

Register your birthday—and other household members' birthdays too, if you want.
Print the confirmation message you receive after registering your birthday.
You will also receive an email reminder two weeks prior to your birthday, which you can also use to redeem your free admission on your birthday.
Bring proper ID and your confirmation message to the gate at one of the Theme Parks at the Walt Disney World® Resort or Disneyland® Resort on your birthday in 2009.
If you are a Passholder or already have a Multi-Day ticket you will use on your birthday, go ahead and register and bring the free admission on Your Birthday confirmation and proper ID to the gate so you can choose from one of our other exciting birthday gifts instead. (see FAQs for details).

:wizard: We are going on mine this summer!!

I have always wanted to go to Disney on Christmas. I am hoping that now I can. (My birthday is on Christmas day). However, we are already booked to go in August so I guess the chances are thin. Two of our children have birthdays in August but not the week we are there.

Personally, I don't like this as much as YOMD. I can't go on my birthday (nor on any family member's birthdays) so I won't have any chance at a surprise like fast pass lanyards, free pins, etc. We will be celebrating my birthday 1.5 weeks early at Disney, but it won't count as its not ON my birthday.

YOMD rocks! :goodvibes

We have only celebrated two birthdays at Disney. Both times it was for our oldest dd because we were there both times on her birthday. The other kids don't mind because they know it isn't their birthday when they are there but have been asking when we can go on their birthday. (We have an Ocotober, November and early August). Trying to decide if we should change our dates for next year from the end of August to the beginning and bring my dad for his 70th birthday and my ds for his 5th. Decisions decisions.

Well, I am happy for those of you who can take advantage of this. Our trip dates are already "cast in stone" and we will miss my 14 year olds birthday by 2 days, which is a bummer. Oh well we will still be at Disney and will still celebrate. I did really like the YOAMD too. There is always next year!:rotfl:

Nice thought, but I am hardly going to Fla. in August just to get a free day....Now, California, maybe......:goodvibes

I agree with lisa3383. This promotion is a big wash. You only get to take advantage of it if you can go right on your birthday. Disney execs and marketing know this and that is why thy chose to do it this way. This way they can say they are giving away things but in reality the company will get off way cheaper!

Good for the company -- not too exciting a prospect for many of us. Especially those of us who for two years have heard about all the nice perks people have been getting with YOMD, but have been unable to go and experience it for ourselves.

Maybe, we will just hold off and go in 2010 instead.
:sad2:

It worked out for us, we already had family vacation planned, so when I booked our package, we booked for one less day. Now my dad :happytv: who will be 81 gets in free, he is so excited about this! I filled the form for him yesterday and printed off his receipt with the bar code on it, it took just a few minutes. We will now just buy a 1 day ticket the day of his birthday, he wants to go to Epcot :).

Our Mousekeeper told us this just the other day when I told her it was my b'day, but I thought she was joking - apparently not.

We do plan on going on my son's b'day next year but it doesn't really make a difference if I have to buy multi day passes for all of us.

I checked website and see that if you have passes already, you can get another option on your b'day.

We've been twice during the Year of a Million Dreams and haven't received a thing from it.
