Free dinning question

I don't know if this is the right place to put this question, and if many people have already asked this...could you please point me in the right direction to those threads. Thanks

I am thinking about booking a trip for august and I am wonding when Disney tells that they are giving free dinning? And when they leak that info, how do I get it (is it on their offical site that it is being offered?).

I am choosing between either taking the buy 4 get 3 days free option or the free dinning (if it happens). Does anyone know which would be better to take? (I have never done the dinning plan before)

It really depends on where you're staying, what type of room you want, etc. For us, we had POP (value) booked on the 4/3 for May and have Free Dining (bounceback from last year) booked at POP for September. It was the same rooms, same # people, same 7 day hopper tickets. For this scenario, Free Dining was several hundred $$ cheaper than the 4/3 deal.

Now if you're wanting a deluxe the 4/3 might work out better. You just have to price out the choices. You can put it in on the Disney website to see which is cheaper (just leave the Dining plan off to see what Free dining would cost -- room & tickets only.)

There is no coupon code for free dining... it is generally offered in late Aug through late Sept early Oct to fill the resorts during a generally slow time of the year.
