How would you know if you don't ask them?

There is no reason to believe the TiW would be restricted based on your DVC membership. It's unlikely they're trained on the different cards. Alerting them to the different introduces confusion, and results in the cast member making a judgement call with incomplete information. In my opinion, asking that question makes it more likely that you'll get turned away with an incorrect answer.

Show up, tell them you want to purchase the TiW card, and provide your credentials. If they actually do have been trained on some policy that we don't know about, you'll find out then.

Remember, contracts in flight were grandfathered. So, 4/4 plus roughly 90 days to close, plus three weeks until the card comes in the mail, means that its only been in the past three weeks that anyone could even try. And, since you really need to book a DVC trip at least 7 months out, I doubt we'll hear any first-hand experience for a while.

Do you have any confirmation on the post-4/4 members being disqualified for TiW? I really doubt they're going to enforce any sort of restriction on that. TiW is not a "member extra" discount.

I thought it was a general restriction on the post 4/2016 resale contracts. I'll probably give member services a call and see what my "white" membership card is good for. We have 2 trips planned within 12 months of each other so we are going to pick up AP's weather we get the DVC discount or not, and the AP will get us the TIW card. But it would be nice to get a gold AP instead of a platinum one, since we are traveling outside of the black out dates on the gold AP.

This is another one of those cases where it will probably depend on which CM you ask. Ask 10 different CMs and get 10 different answers.

Don't think you can get a gold pass as a post 4/4 buyer. I was trying to buy gold passes online recently and kept getting a weird error message. When I called member services to order and mentioned it she immediately asked if I was a resale buyer because they are excluded from the discounted gold pass. Once she confirmed we had been members since early 2015 she processed the order.
