Free Dining?

What exactly IS the free dining? Is it only available if you're staying at one of the resort hotels? (we're staying at HoJo's). What does it cost? What do you get? Is it worth it? I keep seeing references to it, but can't seem to find out what it actually IS!

The free dining offer only applies to those staying on disney property and I am pretty sure its only at Walt Disney World in Florida - .

As already stated, free dining is associated with WDW but I'll post this anyway.

There are periods of the year, I think during lower periods where, if you purchase a Full Price 'Magic Your Way Package' (ie, accommodation, park tickets etc) through Disney you will be eligible for Free Dining. If you decide you'd prefer a room discount if it's running, then you can't get free dining.

If you stay at a Value resort, you get a 'Quick Service Dining Plan' which is 2 quick service meals and a snack per day. If you are at a Moderate, Deluxe or Villa you get the Regular Dining Plan which is 1 table service, 1 quick service and 1 snack per day.

You're able to upgrade to a higher level plan for a price.
Tips are an out of pocket cost.

And if you are staying at a deluxe with discounts it works out cheaper to buy dining plan and get the discounted room....remember its disney, there's no such thing as "free".........
just do the math.....
