free dining...What!!??

k so ive heard the words free dining mentioned alot round here...what is it. I thought that disney only offered the dining plan for a fee...okay im just completely confused please help thanks alot

Usually the last week of August and September are Free Dining. They announce it in April unless you have booked a bounceback from the previous year.

There are only so many rooms available at each resort with the Free Dining Promotion. You have to book a package with a 3 night stay at rack rates and a min of 1 day park pass.

Free dinning has been offered for the last few years from late August till late September, early October. Disney has done this as a promotion to bring in extra revenue during a "slower" time since the kids are going back to school and it being hurricane season. You do pay rack rate for rooms but it's still an amesome deal in my opioion We took the offer in Sept 07 and had a great time! We would have done it in 08 but instead we welcomed our newest addition'S(boy/girl twins) in to the world. So were going back this year in hopes of free dinning again and to show the twins, Mickey & Minnie for the first time They usually release it the first week of April. Hoping they will be bringing it back with this plunging economy! Hope this helped! I'm sure others will come and clear up any techincial "stuff" I missed

Free dining is essentially the Basic Disney Dining plan ( 1Ts,1 cS, 1 snack per person per day) for free with the purchse of a FULL PRICED,NON DISOCUNTED Myw disney pkg including resort stay and a minimum of a 1 day park ticket per person.No other discounts may be applied, and everyone in your party must be on the same pkg.it is generally announced in april for trips during select dates in Mid-late August thru Mid-Late Sept.

We had Free Dining in November which was a special deal they offered to Disney VISA holders. Free Dining was offered to Disney VISA holders for most of the fall (after the public free dining in Sept) with a few weeks not included. We did have to get the package but there was a small discount on the rooms included. We figured it cost us $ 200 to add free dining (we already had a room discount) but that was pretty good for 4 people for 6 days. No way to know, of course, if they will do this next year. As stated above, free dining has been offered to the public for the last couple of years during September/early October.
