Free dining - switch to Pop Cent or Upgrade to Caribbean????

Ok so free dining came out today and of course ASMovies is not included. so now we are going to switch but I'm not sure what to do.

Pop is an option and it would save us about $400 for the vacation (but we are upgrading the DP from the QS to DDP so we have to pay that $ upgrade).

But I was also looking at Caribbean and it would save us $41 on the whole trip to upgrade there because the DDP is included where its a moderate. But its a moderate! so now I'm not sure what to do!

I need suggestions, opinions, pros and cons!!!!!

I'd do the math to see the cost difference between the upgraded DDP staying at Pop (which is a resort I love!) and staying at CBR would be. If it's around the $100 mark, I'd definitely upgrade to a moderate over a value!

or saving $41 switching to CBR.

The difference is we would be saving $41 on the vacation at a moderate vs the original ASmovies. Is it worth saving $41 to stay at a moderate?

Here lets do it this way

ASMovies: $2155
[DDP (no FD), 4day park hopper, preferred room)

Pop: $1759 (as of FD)
[DDP (have to pay the difference between QS & DDP), 4day park hopper, Standard Pool View room]

CBR: $2114 (As of FD)
[DDP (included in FD), 4 Day park hopper, King room]

What is really the better deal

I wouldn't upgrade from pop to Caribbean, because at both resorts you still get a full size bed and if the fridges are all repaired... A fridge. if u upgrade choose riverside or Coronado so you get queen size beds. we had French Quarter and had to switch to Coronado to qualify (1:10:38 on phone with Disney this morning). I had booked French quarter and just hoped dining would come out eventually... Oh well. Quarter we used to just stay at a value resort and pay the difference but now my daughter is 10.... Its cheaper for us to go to the moderate

We will most likely be getting a king at ASMovie - we booked preferred and I've let them know its our honeymoon, thats why i did the price for the the king at CBR. And if we switch to POP I'll be requesting a king there as well.

If its your honeymoon, I'd upgrade to a moderate. I would upgrade to CSR as well, it has so many more amenities!

Honestly, this was us in 2009. Free dining....POP or CBR. We chose to upgrade to CBR (had stayed at POP previously). We spent the rest of the trip wishing we had stuck with POP. We just did not like CBR very much at all. So, from personal experience, I'd stick with POP!

We love CBR!! We did not like POP. We would pick mods over values for that price!!! Bigger rooms- double sinks. We thought the beds were more comfortable (did not like POP's beds). towels are even a bit thicker and bigger. Hottubs. More relaxing.

My only value experience was AS Sports and we didn't like it. Irrespective of price, I'd upgrade and I'd try CSR.

So I played around a little bit more and found out that we can get a standard room at Coronado Springs and save $176 off our original price at ASMovies! Awesome looking Mod room for less than the Standard Value one we had booked? No-Brainer!!! Thank you all for the help and input!!! Its much appreciated!

So glad you went for it! I had a trip to CSR booked for tomorrow that I had to cancel bc of health reasons, but, I can't wait to stay there. Happy Honeymoon!

Now booked at CSR and I just received the details of my reservation. In it was things I have not previously booked and I was wondering if anyone happened to know if its because I upgraded to a Mod resort and these thing automatically come with it. I also don't know what some of them are. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I would stay at POP, especially if you have kids. I don't think CB is any better, although it is a moderate.
