Free Dining question

I noticed that free dining starts on May 27. If we book our trip a few days earlier than that, like May 25-31, would that be covered by free dining?

I don't believe so. However, you could do a split reservation with the beginning of the second one on the 27th so you would at least get FD for the latter part of your trip.

Promotions are guided by Check-in dates. As such, if you check in the day before a promotion starts, that reservation is not eligible. Likewise, if you check in the day a promotion ends, that whole reservation is eligible.

You could do a split stay to take advantage of the FD offer for the days within the promotional period. To do this you would book a room only for the first two nights, then a package for the rest of the trip. Since the day you want to arrive is less than 4 days before the second reservation, you will be able to pick up (and use) the park tickets associated with the second reservation (you can pick up package tickets up to 3 days before your stay). Your dining plan would not start until you check into the second reservation though.

Of course, this would also depend on if the second stay meets the minimum stay requirements for the promotion. I'm not read up on the new FD stuff yet, so I'm not sure what those are.

No, those dates won't work. I had originally booked for May 23-31 and when free dining was announced I called to add it to my existing reservation and the CM tried everything and it wouldn't work until I had him change my dates to May 27-June 5.
We've been every year for the past 20 years and never received free dining so to save $1655 I gladly changed my dates!! I was sooooooooo happy!!!

What about the reverse.....I'm booking a package for a friend and they are going 9/24/11 to 10/1/11 and the free dining is advertised until 9/29/11. I called Disney and they said the free dining will cover through their check out date. I was just wondering if anyone had any experience with this? I'm just concered they will get there and be told they were given the wrong information.

I think because dining plans have to be taken for the duration of your stay, if your confimration mentions dining included and the price reflects what you have been quoted, you are good.

did you already book this...because I think the September free dining offer had to be booked by 8/14? The only special offer fore August/September that's still showing on the Disney website is the percentage-off on room rates, not the Free Dining. Free Dining offer on there now is for stays starting 10/1.

However, if you already booked it, then yes, as others have said, if you booked under the promotion and check in before the offer ends, then you get the promo for the length of stay, up to 14 nights.

I haven't booked it yet, but it's for 2011, not 2010. It said free dining in my price quote though, so I think I will be ok. Thanks for the quick responses.

oh duh ME! I see 2011 now...I need to pay closer attention, lol.
