Free dining pin

So, today I got a free dining pin that would be good for our dates in July. We already have a ressie with a 40% military room discount at the Poly and the military discount on PH's, as well as the regular DDP booked that we were going to just pay for. My question is can I just add the free dining to our current ressie and keep everything, including ADR's, and then just upgrade to either Club Level or the DxDDP??? TIA

No. You will loose your 40% off discount and will still need to buy tickets. Don't know if one or two days of tickets.

You can purchase the dining plan with the military discount and not have to purchase tickets tho.

I got the 40% pin too (not the Military discount) and then received the free dining pin.. the resort goes back to rack rate and then they take the free dining.. it would have added over $400 extra dollars. Not a good deal..

Free dining isn't a good deal at a deluxe resort, the room discount is always the better deal. My DH was mad that I didn't book free dining for our first deluxe stay at AKL so I had to show him the numbers to convince him that the % discount that I booked was a better deal.

As a PP pointed out, you have to run the number. It depends on how many people are in the room, and their ages too, to determine which is better. In order to get free dining you pay full rack rate for your room and have to add two day tickets as well. It sounds like you probably come out ahead with your current deal.

You can get free dining OR the military room discount. You can't combine them. If you choose the free dining you will have to buy tickets with your package. With the military discount, you can choose to add a DDP and pay for it, and then buy the military discounted tickets.

ccgirl is correct, run the numbers or call Disney and they will run them and tell you which is cheaper. For us staying at Wilderness lodge it is $200 cheaper for free dining, but our current pin does not cover Sept. So we will stay with room discount pin for now.
