Free Dining Pin Question

Are the restrictions on free dining pins usually the same as free dining offers to the general public - ie non-discount rate rooms and minimum of 2 days of park tickets?

My family and I are annual passholders or Florida residents so usually the room discounts and discounted Florida resident tickets are cheaper for the short trips we take.

FD whether it is via PIN code or public code requires rack rate for room and a minimum 2 day base ticket for everyone in the room.

Yes normally they are the same. The last few ones have been counter service for Value and Dining Plan for other categories.

Free dining has always required a ticket purchase as part of a package - no exceptions. Used to be a one-day ticket but for the past couple of years it's been a 2-day minimum.

If you purchase the dining plan - as opposed to getting it free - you can apply an annual passholder room discount to a ticketless package with dining. But none of this works if you're after free dining.

This is what we have been doing getting the passholder discounted room and dine plan. I have never received a pin so I assumed they worked the same but just double checking.

If they offer free dining (whether i get a pin or it is through a general public offer) in mid-December, it would be the only time financially worth it since we are visiting the parks for two days that are blacked out on our Annual Seasonal Passes (so we would need two day tickets anyhow) and we are staying for 8 days so the "free dining" will probably outweigh the historic room discounts. Now the wait to see if the cut off date for free dining, if they offer it in December at all, is after our arrival. :goodvibes

Back in 2009 I had received a pin for free dining and we decided to book a trip at Pop. When I called to book it and use the pin I was told that my husband had a even better pin on his name. Of course since we were staying at Pop a % off wouldn't have been better. I assume the pin included some free dining which was actually regular dining plan and either discounted room or tickets. It was a great deal as we stayed 7 nights with 2 Adults and 1 Child at Pop preferred room with non hopper tickets and including airfare from Maine only cost us $1,800.00. Even my husband couldn't pass that deal up!
2010 stayed offsite, but hoping for some type of Pin for this year!
