Hello!

My trip is planned for 9/11-9/17 of this year.

Everyone in my 8 person party has annual passes. I have booked three rooms at Riverside. I was told by the cast member to call back around August to get the pass holder discount for the resort rooms. Which was 25%-35% last fall for pass holders.

I had also booked the regular Disney dining plan for everyone as well.

Now this free dining plan comes out and got me to wondering.

1) Would Disney let me do both promotions? (I know probably not)

If not then...

2) Would it save more money to save on the rooms via having annual passes or to use the free dining, knowing I'll pay something for having a higher dining tier and paying an additional charge?

Thank you!

1. No
2. You just have to do the math. Calculate how much your AP room discount save VS how much having "free" dining saves. Good luck!

1. No.
2. You'll have to do the math to determine how much you'd save on food based on how you typically eat at WDW, and compare that to the passholder discount. Be sure to check how many credits each restaurant charges for each meal. It's not always what you'd assume.

I would have saved more with the free dining than the room discount. But the point is moot because when I called you have to have physical tickets than annual passes. Thanks anyway.

Just to add to what the previous poster said about saving the FD tickets for later, you can put those toward the purchase of your next annual pass. Also, the free dining offer has been out for over a month now and the availability was very limited. You would have to change resorts if you did decide to go with the FD offer for those dates.
