Hi

Apologies cause I expect this has been asked somewhere before but I could find it. But...

When is free dining normally held? and How do you find out about it in enough time to actually get a booking?

Looking at going back in 2010.

Thank you

Seo

If they have it, they announce it to Disney Visa cardholders sometime in March and then to the general public the first couple weeks of April. Your best bet, if you don't have a Disney Visa card, is to check these boards often as Diser's have great info.

Any free dining announcement made this year Mach-April, will be for 2009. I notice you may be asking about 2010. You will have to wait for 2010, around April 2010.
Of course we can only go by what has been done in the past.

Can a relative use there disney credit card and put the reservation in someone elses name? i'm thinking about when they offer the free dining first for disney visa card holders. my mom has one and i was wondering if she could make the reservation in our name and pay for it with her card???????? please help.:surfweb:

But the problem is that the reservation will be in her name, and if she is not going on the trip with you that presents a problem.

But could she reserve it in our name and pay for it in hers? i'm not sure how that would work. thank you for your input.

Maybe she could be on the reservation, but not the primary. Then change her name for yours at a later date. I know they permit name changes to a reservation as long as it isn't the primary person being changed.

We have taken advantage of it the past few years in September. I'm pretty sure it was announce in April.

I recall reading somewhere (maybe Mousesavers) that they also offered this to Disney Visa members last Sep for travel from end of Sep '08 to Dec '08. Can anyone confirm?

They did offer free dining at that time BUT. it was only in 2 ways..first, Disney sent out a person specific pincode postcard with the offer, and then DIsney Vias holders were offered a similar deal. There is no way to know or guarantee it will happen again this year .Last year(2008) was the first time that free dining was ever offered outside the usual late summer time frame.

Possibly. But if you simply wait a couple of days it will be available to everyone and it won't really matter.

Could someone please explain exactly what free dinning is? Counter service, Table Service, Character meals etc.. I assume it is free food but what are we talking about? Very Confused:crazy2:

It is the Basic Disney Dining plan for free( so 1 TS meal, 1 CS meal, and 1 snack per day per person in your party) with the purchase of a FULL PRICED NON DISCOUNTED MYW disney pkg with resort stay including the purchase of a minimum of a 1 day park ticket per person in your party.

You should be able to make the reservation in YOUR name, but pay your $200 deposit with your mother's Disney Visa. We did this a few years ago before we had our own Disney Visa. They let me put my deposit on my sister's Disney Visa and then I just gave her the $200. You should have no problems at all. My sister was not on our reservation in any way either. Worked out great! Hope this helps, have fun planning! :goodvibes
