free dining ends 20th???

That is very interesting....uhmmm....now if we checkin on the 20th can we have the FDP through our stay??

As long as you check in before the promo expires you will get free dining for your length of stay.....at least that's how it was last year.
This sure they might have changed it?

i will be soooo upset if the 20th date is the end. when i talked to a CM before they said they will NOT allow for promotions to be offered past the ending date as they have done in year's past. it does make sense since they ended free dining the second to last saturday last year and that would be the 20th this year, not the 27 as people are predicting.

i have ADR and a trip booked from sept 19-27. i will be upset if i have to cancel my ADRs that i worked hard to get to book the week prior to get the free dining. i know i won't be able to get le cellier now.

any other news about this would be very helpful. thanks!

The 27th is coming into play with predictions because that's when the bounce back ended this year.

Last year the bounce back ended 9/29 this year it end's 9/27

Last year the general dining ended 9/22 this year it's suspected it'll end 9/20

Disney is certainly following their trend from last year if this is the case this year.

That was exactly my thought, too. I looked at all the previous years of the offer and the 20th would definitely follow the trend. The only problem this year is that they won't extend the offer past the promo date. We took advantage of that in years past. Looks like I am most likely going to have to switch my dates and lose my dining ADR.

According to the disney cms I have talked to ,and the institution of disneys new policy on discounts and promos.I wouldn't count on being able to extend free dining past the end date.I know some people were able to extend their bounceback this year, but many more were told they could not.the cms pretty much have said when a promo ends it ends and can not be extended anymore. But knowing how disney tends to change things, we won't know till it happens.

I was able to book Le Cellier this morning (for September 9th). We wanted to go at lunch and I'm sure dinner is harder to get, but if you're flexible - it's probably still a possibility for you!:goodvibes

If that's true Free dining is in an awful small window this year. It used to be a month and 2 weeks now, its really only about 3 weeks, and those are tough to schedule due to the fact any type extended stay could stretch outside the time frame and disqualify someone for free dining.

But that is assuming a certain start date. It could start the 23rd or 24th of August, or even (theoretically) the weekend prior to that. I wish we would find SOMETHING out.

Thanks otisand maggie. I called this morning, too and did make new ADRs for the week prior just in case. I was so surprised and excited that I was able to get Le Cellier on one of the days. It is for 7:50pm instead of my 5pm but I'll take it!

I also just tried Disney Visa (twice) to see if I could get any info out of them. Nothing.

I can't take it anymore...... :headache:

Hmmm... so, if that's the case this year*, do you think we'll get the free dining for our entire stay? We've got a reservation already booked from Sept 13-21 at the Coronado Springs, but we're willing to go to pretty much any moderates. Since the 20th is our last night, and your credits are connected to how many nights you're staying, do you think we'd get it for the whole trip? Or will we have to check out and check back in for one night? That doesn't sound all that fun, especially since I know they can't guarantee the same room. Boo.

Our dates are pretty much set in stone, but we're staying at one of the DTD hotels on the 21st, so we could probably just add another night to that reservation and another day of park passes to the disney reservation.

Hmmm... or maybe we could take the opportunity to spend a night in a deluxe! We'll have our car with us, so moving around wont be an issue. I'll have to give this some thought......

Oh man, the 10th can't come fast enough!! Come on free dining!!!!!!!

*Disclaimer- I'm fully aware that free dining is nowhere near certain, nor are any dates so far discussed, and that the mere whisper of discounted foodstuffs is tempting the fates and summoning bad juju. Everything is rumour and hearsay, cheap smarm and gossip, and that your mileage may, in fact, vary. But I'm going to talk about it as fact because I darn well want to. :lmao:

We were planning our trip from Septmener 19-24, but will change the dates if it ends on the 20th. I am dying to find out what will happen with it this year!

I'm confused... I booked a bounceback free dining last year and if my trip is from the 25th-29th, then will I pay for my dining the 28th? They let me book a package up until the 30th, but I need to call and shave off a day or so (maybe more if this is true)...

You are fine! I am also past the 27th with NO problem ....

Arrgh, well I hope that isn't true :sad2: Some of us can't be as flexible with vacation dates due to work constraints and having to travel long distances. At my job, we have to request our vacation times in November of the previous year  And I already bought plane tickets, too, and those can't be changed without a huge penalty. :sad1: *sigh* Well, if free dining isn't available for our stay 9/19-9/26, hopefully we will get a good discount on the room. And resign ourselves to a lot of CS

My two cents worth: According to the bounce-back info we were offered during free dining last year, it will start August 30 this year. Wish I could remember when it ended for sure...we didn't rebook so I just tossed out the info.

We will know for sure April 7 (earlier if you are a Disney Visa cardholder).

Booked the Bounce Back Promo, and was able to extend. I would not worry about anything until official news is released. The problem is often times not every CM you talk to knows the same info. Good luck!
