We are booked into the CB. And would need to split the stay to receive free dining. The same room is not guaranteed and we would not know if we could stay until the day we check in. Has anyone tried this and what were your results? Any advice is appreciated.

Most people get to stay in the same room. What I would suggest is packing everything your party needs for the first stay into one suitcase. That way if you have to switch rooms, you won't have much to pack. I think Bell Services will move your bags for you, but like I said most people get to stay in the same room. The resort staff will try their absolute best to accomodate you.

As long as you book into the same category the whole time, I think it's very likely that they'll keep you in the same room the whole time. I don't have any personal experience, but even if everyone on here says that they've done it a million times and EVERY time they've gotten to stay put, it will not affect your stay.

Keep in mind, that in most cases it's easier to keep you in the same place, because if they move you, they have to completely clean the room. Just make sure to link the reservations and remind the CM who checks you in.

Like smitch said, chances are, you won't have to move. But, there are no guarantees. I've done lots of split stays (at the same resort and switching resorts.) When I've been at the same resort, we haven't had to change rooms. Even when I've changed resorts, it honestly hasn't been a big deal at all. Disney will move your bags for you.

I agree with the pp that even though it's not guaranteed, most people (although not all) are able to keep the same room. If you decide to do the split stay, have the reservations linked together and have it noted that you would like to keep the same room. Then when you check in for the first reservation, tell the CM that you have a continuing reservation and would like to avoid changing rooms if at all possible. As the pp mentioned, Disney will do everything they can to accommodate your requests. Good luck :wizard:.

I'd def do room only for 1 night then FD for the remainder :) Chances are they prob won't move you. More work for them really since they'd have to come clean your room for a new family, etc. Not a guarantee but still chances are pretty good you'll remain in the same room

I arrive the Saturday after Thanksgiving, and discounts do not start until Sunday. Two years, I did not have to move, and had wonderful rooms.

Two years ago, I went on a solo trip to POR. That was when there was only waterview and could be anything from a fountain to a pool to the river.

CM: You are alone; do you mind moving tomorrow. Don't unpack.

Me: I will sleep in these clothes.

CM: I have a riverview room this afternoon...

Me: Gasp.

CM: But tomorrow, I have a better room and it is right next door. Trust me, it is yours tomorrow morning.

Me: Wow.

Walk to room that afternoon. Parterre Place, riverview, but obstructed view with the stairs to the second and third floor. I was not thirty feet from the water.

Re check-in the next day; corner room, two windows, king bed, right next door.

For someone who grew up going to my grandparents waterfront vacation home every year, it was breathtaking.

For someone who has a queen sized bed at home shared with four cats, it took me one night to realize it was all mine. Do not discount moving the next day.
