I believe they don't offer the "free dining" to campground guests..other than those in the cabins, during the so called "free dining" promotions. I think if you are staying in a value or moderate resort..and you have a few kids..this can be benefical..but if you are staying in a Deluxe resort or the cabins at FW..the savings are not as great because you are actually paying full rack rate for the room. So for me..since we usually stay WL..free dining doesn't thrill me.
Glad I won't be going then..when we were scheduled to take trip the first week of October last year..the dining plan was in effect. We did have a room at the lodge..and were going with the dining package. We could NOT get an ADR anywhere we wanted to eat..at a time we wanted to eat. WE are NOT picky about the time either. We wound up cancelling our trip. Being that my dad was ill and I was reluctant to be going anyway, add to that the frustration at trying to plan where you want to eat three months in advance. I mean we usually do make a few ADR's for places we like..but when you are paying full rack rate for a room for the supposed "free dining" you want to make sure you aren't stuck using those table service credits for counter service meals. We wound up getting calls from Dining line letting us know they had extended the dinner hours at the restaurants trying to accomododate all those who were booking for free dining. It sounded as if it would be so crowded..we figured that we'd go another time. Glad to say we received a pin code mailer and were able to secure a room at the WL for May. I've had no problems making a few ADR's at times and places we enjoy. So far, so good. I hope they DON"T add a free dining prom during our stay. If we want they told us we could add the dining plan at the $39.00 per night per person, and keep the discounted room..they would just re-book it as such for us if we change our mind. We'll see..trying to figure if we will spend more than that per day. It's possible since we are all adults(youngest being 16).
