Free Dining/ AP acquisition?

So, we are headed down in 29 days! We have a free dining package. I was going to convert my 6-day PH to an AP while there, but it just dawned on me that doing so might ruin my FD. Is that true...? If I convert to an AP, do I lose free dining? What about the rest of the party on the package? Do I ruin it for them as well? Surely, I want to avoid that. TIA

Don't worry. Your fd will be fine. We've upgraded to AP's several times with fd.

Once you actually check in at your resort, the rules and restrictions associated with packages no longer apply. Entitlements are then fixed and won't change. At that point you can change ticket types as you please and it doesn't affect anything.

So no problem upgrading to an AP.
