Free Dining and AP

I have been told that too. But the one thing to know is they can get wonky. We had the system use the wrong ticket once, even though the priority was set right. Using your AP instead of the MB would eliminate the mix up, I think. Though with MDE I'm not sure anything is ever a sure thing.

If your AP card is linked to your MDE then the physical card should then be linked to every ticket allotment on the account as well. We had that happen were we had the physical card but once it was on the account it was able to pull any ticket. I'm not sure if the AP card works differently though but if it accesses MDE then it can access any ticket listed and doesn't set itself as priority.

Thank you for explaining! I didn't even catch that. Now if the rest of my party did 2 day tickets, then they could use DF and my extra days that we have to buy, right? Would adding days once we got there be easy to do? Would the price start over at the 1 day price or would it continue? I am not sure if that last question makes sense.

Wait...i thought Disney no longer sold non-expiring tickets? Wouldn't the ticket entitlements for the package expire in 12 months (if you unlinked them and saved them or sold them). Not sure how it is now.

Wdw tickets do not expire until used. You can no longer buy a ticket and use only a day or two and hold onto the rest by purchasing a no expiry option but if you do not use the ticket it won't expire.

Two people could use one of your tickets but that's not the cheapest way to do it.

The cost to upgrade the two day tickets would be the price difference between two day tickets and the ticket you are upgrading to.

Thanks! I started to have a  moment where I thought the new ticket rules meant ANY ticket purchased had to be used within a year of purchase.

So to go along with this, if I'm reading it right...does this scenario work: Husband and I have APs. We have a trip booked (DVC points) in November with our kids. Haven't bought their park tickets yet. Hubby and I are going for a quick trip in August (during Free Dining) SO...if we book the free dining package (that must include tix), can we just use our APs and unlink/transfer the unused package tix to our kids for the November trip?

Yes, you can do exactly that! Your package tickets will not be active until you've checked into your resort. Before this it will say non transferable on your MDE. Once you've checked in you can reassign your package tickets to anyone listed on your friends and family list as long as that ticket has not been used. Can reassign those tickets too, but they are linked to your MDE so must add friends/family names to assign to within your MDE account. Can even re-assign them back to yourself at a later date, again as long as they have not been used.

Online it is stating it is a 5 night, 6 day package that is required.

The problem with my DF and I booking a separate room is that it may be cheaper for us, but then my other family members will have to pay more. We are planning on splitting the cost of the 2 bedroom villa. I need to run the numbers though and see if it works with where my family wants to stay. It looks like Boardwalk and Beach Club Villas are full so we may end up with separate rooms. Thank you everyone for your help. I appreciate it.
It's a 3 night stay & 2 day tickets with PH or waterparks but you have to click on the offer details link to see the requirements, the main offer page just explains how they got the "from $xxxx.xx" They usually use 2 adults, 1 junior & 1 child with a 5 night stay for their sample pricing.

THANK YOU! That is EXACTLY what I needed to hear.

We now have Dh and I Aug 23-26 at Pop with FD, and will transfer the tix to the kids for our Nov trip. Woot!! It's a Disney kind of year! Guess I gotta change my sig :)
