My first post on these forums and wow...didn't know there was such a huge forum for Disney with so many participants. But anyhow...my GF and I are headed back to DW for the 2nd year in a row on July 15th...and we'll be hitting AK and MGM this time. We plan to do AK Sat, and MGM Mon, with Sun being a free day. We were thinking about going to Blizzard Beach for half a day, but in the event that we don't, would like other suggestions as to what else to do for a fun filled day, staying within the park. Here are just a couple I've been thinking about... (oh...and we plan to stay at the Pop Century)

1) Get on the Monorail, stop and tour through each resort along the way.

--- are there any must dos at any of these resorts...I remeber reading someone said to definatley rent some sort of boat at one of the MK resorts

2) Head to Downtown Disney and visit the shops (been there done that)

3) Possibly watch La Nouba in the evening.

We basically want to be on the go the entire day, have with us a list of places/things to do, and check em off one by one. Also, any breakfast, lunch, and dinner suggetions?

Thanks for any advice!

Hi Nrgy, and Welcome to the DIS! :)

When you say 'stay within the park' do you mean stay on Disney property but not go into an actual theme park? If so, a morning spent resort hopping or at Downtown Disney with an evening at the Boardwalk is a good (free) way to enjoy Disney without entering a park.

When you mention touring the resorts via monorail, are you aware only the Polynesian, Contemporary, and Grand Floridian are on the monorail line? If so, breakfast at Chef Mickey's, and early High Tea at the Grand Floridian, a late dinner at Ohana at the Poly and then watching the fireworks from the Poly beach would be a nice (free, other than the food) day on property.

If you want sit down dining you may want to book it right away as many locations will fill up, certainly during peak times, in July. Call 407-WDW-DINE.

If you are interested in Cirque du Soleil, you may want to book that right away, too. Shows do sell out, especially during the summer months.

Thanks for the reply. Yes, we want to stay on Disney property but not enter any theme parks. I think we'll do the monorail hoppin, and the fireworks at the Poly beach sounds like a great idea. I'm assuming the Contemporary, Poly, and Grand Floridian all have boat rentals? Is there a particular place one would recommend renting from?

The Boardwalk sounds like a great idea too, we did not make it there last year. Thanks again for the tips.
