Free companion airfare at Kodak Gallery?

I randomly 'tripped over' a banner ad online, went to the Kodak Gallery website and saw that right now if you place a $50 order online, you can get a certificate for a free companion airfare. I think we can't put links on here, but you can look it up. ;)

I have been sitting on a TON of digital photos that need to be developed so I could easily do the $50, but I'm wondering if this companion airfare is worthwhile? Has anyone done it? If there aren't too many restrictions, it could be really helpful for our December trip to Disney. It looks like our home city and Orlando are both included, and we aren't going over a holiday so we shouldn't be blacked out. Any insights?

Thanks! And I hope maybe this offer can help some others too!

NOthings coming up when I go to Kodak Gallery. Is there special link?

Thanks! Anyone know what the different zones mean? I am wondering if you can't fly from one zone to another or something. Wish they had more details.

Never mind. You can click on the details. Looks interesting, but they probably give you the highest rate available and you do have to pay all the fees on the second ticket. I'll have to see what their prices are like. I need prints, so it may not be a big risk.

Pricing may depend on who it is booked through & if it is limited to certain airlines.

You also may have to be a bit flexible on dates - example with my Delta $99 companion certificate I actually had to stay a day longer at Disney :rotfl: The Sunday we wanted to return had fares that were $140 higher pp & wouldn't allow the companion usage. So we save around $300 net for 3 people plus get an extra day at Disney LOL!!

If I had prints to make I would definitely try it just to see what came up. As long as you are not spending money you were not planning on spending, it may be a good bonus. If not, you haven't spent anything you were not going to already.

I just looked it up online, and they had this deal before Christmas. People were successful getting tickets. I also found a page saying that the offer is good until April. I definitely think I am going to get some pictures made. Thanks for the info. I don't usually go on there website.

This looks interesting. Silly question - do you have to use a specific airline? I read the Terms and Conditions but it doesn't say.

Thanks for the feedback. Good to know that people have had some success with it. I uploaded a bunch of pics and I already have $48.00 in photos, just from our last Disney trip. :rotfl: Still have other ones to upload so I will hit the $50 mark easily. In high volume, the prices aren't bad (I think 12 cents each).

The terms and conditions are definitely vague. The only really specific thing I could find is that it's for coach seats...so at least I know you don't have to buy some ridiculous first class seat or something!

I'll report back and let you know if I'm successful! We aren't going until December so not all the airlines even have their flights set yet, but it looks like I have some time to try to use the certificate.

I found this additional info on the website: "Spend $50 and get a free companion airfare:
After making a qualifying order of $50 or more (excluding tax and shipping) user will receive one free round-trip coach class companion airline ticket with the initial purchase of one round trip coach class airline ticket. User will receive the companion ticket redemption code via email within 10 days of making qualifying order. Redemption code must be registered within 30 days from receiving date. After registration, user will have a 12 month travel window. Blackout dates will apply. 14-day advance purchase will be required. Fares subject to change without notice. Selection of airline varies by market. Airline service is not available in all markets. The companion ticket applies to the base fare only. Normal taxes and fees charged by the airline will apply to both tickets; See complete Terms and Conditions enclosed - http://www.companionticketinfo.com/. I still don't understand what the whole "zone" thing is all about. :confused3

Do you think the zone thing could be that those are the only cities you can fly from/to using the companion tix? That's what i'm wondering I think they just broke the US up by zones and listed specific cities within that:confused3

This is the same website that did the free copanion airline for DOCKERS a few years ago. I got my companion ticket through them and had no problems. I do remember I had to fly out at the time they specified, which wa late in the evening, but it was a free ticket.

I emailed the website yesterday and got the following reply this morning....

BLACKOUT DATES FOR 2011

January 1-4

March 26-31

April 1-3

November 24-29

December 23-31

Hope this helps!

Ok, it's late & my brain is fried...I am planning our trip for Dec 17-26. My arrival date is prior to the blackout date, but the date I plan to come home is during the blackout dates. Would that mean I couldn't use this deal? Or could I only use it for the way down, but not the trip home? Sorry if my question is confusing, like I said...fried brain...LOL:rotfl:

So has anyone tried this yet? I am curious to see if the flights are a reasonable price that they make you take. It sounds too good to be true with airline prices being so high!

I have one from another company when they did this promo and the website to go to is the same. I ended up not using because it really isnt a great deal. The zones refer to how much the price will be for the ticket. Like if you live in zone 3 and want to fly to zone 6 on the map then it costs X amount for your ticket then you get the free ticket.

I live in Indiana and to fly to Disney it would be $400 for my ticket from Indy and then my free companion ticket. That does not include taxes and fees as far as I can tell. I can buy us two tickets in advance for the same amount if not cheaper if I luck out.

Now to DL it is $500 from Indiana which would save me $100 or so total to use the companion airfare, so I may still use it if my travel date for DL this summer stands firm.

Where did you find how much it would be from zone to zone?
Thanks. I would be going from Zone 3 to Zone 7 February 2012

I copied a zone chart for my certificate. I am not sure since the date for mine expires on 6/11 if the prices would be different for the later travel dates or not, but it gives you something to go off of.
