Free CAKE at Albertsons!

I stopped in at Albertson's today to check their 'day old' bakery items. They have a new product~an 1/8th sheet size frosted layer cake. Regular price is $8.99, on sale for $6.99. Since it's Friday night (I needed an excuse, right?), I got the chocolate one with chocolate mousse filling . When the cashier rang it up, it rang up as $8.99, not $6.99. She confirmed that it was indeed the lower price, and since they guarantee "no register errors or it's free", I GOT IT FOR FREE!! Now, if it only came with FREE CALORIES....

Oh, and in case you're wondering, she wouldn't let me go get any more... (he! he!)

Our Alberstons' (Acme here in the Northeast) does the same thing.

I've gotten shrimp, pita bread, razors, shampoo, and soda with the free guarantee.

I usually find something on every shopping trip.

Here's a tip: Our Albertsons changes sales on Fridays, so sometimes the old UPC's and registers/hang tags on the shelves are not completed by Friday. So go late afternoon Friday or early Saturday you have a good change of finding a price difference.

Yup, Shaw's in New England Too. I've gotten tons of free groceries over the years.
