Free $5.00 HEB gift card with any Disney gift card purchase

Has anyone tried to trade all of their smaller Disney gift cards in for one larger one at the Disney Store? I'll be using our gift cards to purchase new annual passes for us. I'd like to buy some 5 day park hoppers online first and then upgrade in the parks, but Disneyland.com will only allow you to use 3 gift cards per order online.....

The Disney Store at Lakeline Mall in North Austin said no, they do not consolidate Disney Gift Cards. Same thing with the store at the Round Rock Premium Outlets.

We will take them all with us to Florida and treat them like $15 bills. You may try buying the tickets you want on the phone.

Thanks for the info. If need be, I'll show up at the ticket counter with a stack of gift cards. I've bought 10 of them so far and will buy another 10 if I can locate some of the $15 ones.

Bought 13 more tonight. Up to 40 total. So that's $600 Disney Cash for essentially $400.

Tuesday's the last day of the deal. I hope to grab about 30 tomorrow.

The online ad says that the sale runs until December 24 but I've heard a couple of others say that it ends today. I hope not because I'm not traveling to Texas until tomorrow. My Mom picked up 10 cards for me already but I was hoping to buy 10 more myself tomorrow.

Yep, I think it expires today, although HEB usually honors their Yellow coupons if they are expired. YMMV.

I am now up to 64 cards. $960 in Disney cash for essentially $640.

Nope. Neither the Disney nor the HEB gift cards expire.

My name is Brad and I work with HEB. Thanks for your question! Unfortunately, after 12 months of non-use, a service fee of $2.00 per month will be deducted from the card balance until the balance is fully depleted or 36 months have passed without use, whichever occurs first. Any balance remaining after 36 months of non-use will be forwarded to the Texas Comptroller’s Office. The clock starts over after each redemption so the card will not access dormancy fees or be escheated to the state as long as it is used within the year. If you’d like to inquire about your specific case, please call our customer service at 1-800-987-4438 or 210-938-8537.

I was wondering if I could use the Disney GCs to pay off the items I charge to my room, on Disney property. That would be super easy instead of using them individually to pay tips, etc. TIA!

I mentioned this deal to a few friends who have upcoming WDW trips when I noticed the promotion last week. A friend who is traveling w/ 2 other families next week said they have been buying up cards in the Austin, San Antonio and Dallas area. They said they have had better luck purchasing the cards at the customer service counter at HEB and they are able to put all the HEB funds onto 1 card. You still need to have multiple Disney cards though.

Thanks. That is obviously not a problem for most. I've already spent $100 of the $320 in HEB gift cards. We spend at least $100 every month at the grocery store.

I agree. Going to 1900 Park Fare and paying the $100 tab with 7 gift cards might be a little embarrassing.

I just called the Boardwalk Villas to ask this question. They said no problem. In fact, they suggest you to put the gift cards on your room's account the day you arrive. Then you can check your balance as it declines throughout your trip. They won't charge your credit card until the gift cards have been used up. If they don't get used up, a gift card with the balance will be issued back to you.

Of course, if it helps you to budget yourself in shopping to have a certain amount of money to spend, you may want to hold on to a certain number of cards. This is what we will be doing. My wife will take an allotment for shopping. She'll have a tangible feeling at all times for how much more she can buy. I'll pay for food with the rest, and the day I arrive I'll put my allotment on my KTTW card.

Wow, that's great. The customer service desks are definitely the way to go. They take less time, and patrons in line behind you are usually more patient, since several minute transactions are more commonplace there.

None of the customer service reps I dealt with mentioned consolidating the HEB gift cards. The one time I asked was to a manager at a normal register, but in order for all the $5 off coupons to work, they needed to ring up $5 HEB gift cards. But using $5 Gift Cards is a very minor hassle, and one time I bought 13 cards and then bought $64 in groceries a few minutes later, and handed him the Gift Cards without even pulling them off the cardboard and wiping off that sticky stuff.

And a report from North Austin ... three different H-E-B stores (Parmer/Mopac, Great Hills, Parmer/McNeil) sold out today of the $15 Mickey cards. Still plenty of $25 cards left though.

If anyone in Austin is looking for more tonight, the HEB near I-35 and Wells Branch/1825 has a couple dozen left.

I finished with 80 Gift Cards -- $1200 Disney Cash and $400 in free groceries. I estimated around $1200 to $1400 in Disney expenses for our 8 night trip, so I'll stop now.

The same "3 gift cards per order online" also applies to buying the Disney PhotoPass PhotoCD for the $99.95 Pre-visit offer.

I left them a voicemail and hopefully will get to use 7 cards to cover the full cost.

I bought 15 gift cards today at a regular HEB, it was not a plus store.
Does anyone know if we can take the $15 gift cards to the disnystore and combine them all onto one card?

I called the number on the back of the gift cards. The customer service person gladly transferred the balance from several of the cards onto one. Now I can use that big one to buy the PhotoPass Pre-Purchase CD, which has a 3 Gift Card limit.

Thanks so much for this great bit of info! I was able to call yesterday, transfer the balances on about 50 cards to one and then purchase my Disneyland tickets online. This was one great deal! :)

Which number do you call to transfer the gift cards onto one? I called the number on the back of my disney card and was told that they can only give balances and can not transfer all my gift cards on to one. The number I called was 877-650-4327. Thanks

That's the right number. When did you call? I know that they switched their regular service over to a temp service during the holidays because I had the same problem. I was able to successfully combine several cards before Christmas, but when I called back during the holidays it was obvious I was talking to different folks and they couldn't help me. I called back after the holiday and was able to get the rest of my gift cards combined into one without any problem. I suggest you call back. When you get the regular Disney folks you'll know it. Good luck!

Mouse13, thanks for the reply. I called a few days ago two times, then I called again just a few minutes ago. I was told I had to take them to the Disney store to combine them. I want to order the photo cd before we go on our trip. I guess I can try again in a day or two.

Just sent you a PM....

I dont have enough post to pm, but thanks mouse13. I got it figured out today. The number I had been calling is the right one, but I was calling after hours and not getting the regular workers. I am all fixed up now. Thanks again.
