I have to see how things go. The DRs really do not want me out but I am going nuts in the house. Today DH is taking me for a ride.
I told him I feel like the family dog if I am good I get to go for a ride and hang my head out the window.

* picnic ~ in an apple orchard - picking season has started and if you go midweek I'm sure will be pretty quiet.
* walk on the beach ~ now with the kids in school and it's getting cooler there should be too many people around.

Susan - That really sucks about the gravel pit. I can sympathize a little. Our neighbors have 7 dogs. Keep in mind that we live in the city. We can't even use the back yard if the wind is blowing from the south. You do, at least, have those gorgeous views. the best view we have is the pentecostal church across the street.
We're going to Holiday World this weekend. Carly is psyched about riding the Legend for the first time! I'm pretty excited about getting a taco salad while we're there.
I think I have developed 'selective vision' and am prone to look up instead of down when I look out my windows any more. 
So, the Disney trip we are taking in Dec. is supposed to be a family trip with my DH's family. His oldest brother and his family and my in-laws are going but we haven't heard anything from the middle brother.
Today, my FIL told me that the middle brother's next door neighbor talked them out of going because he didn't think their kids would enjoy the trip (they have a 2yo and a 7 yo).Why in the world someone would say something like that is beyond me. Its blasphemy I tell ya! My DD (who is 3 and has been three times already) has had a blast each and every trip!!! Anyway, my FIL and I both agreed that its going to be their loss if they don't go!
I had people telling me not to take my kids last year when they were 2 and 4 because "they wouldn't remember it." Well, guess what? They must remember it because they ask me every single day when we can go back. And, if you based everything you do for your kids on that reason, you would never have birthday parties, trips to the zoo, Easter egg hunts, etc.
) except this time I'm busy getting ready for a trip this weekend. We are going to the Breaks Interstate Park this weekend for my family reunion. It is right on the edge of Ky and Va and is absolutely gorgeous. My family has been going there every Labor Day weekend since waaaay before I was born. I think they started in the 50's.
This will be the first year in a while that we will be staying all weekend. My Mom's brothers and sisters(she has 8 of them) and spouses are all getting up there in years and I want to make sure me and the kids spend time with them before it's too late. Several of them are WWII vets and they all have so many stories to tell. My sister gets annoyed with me every year because I don't hang out with my cousins and play cards and drink. I love to drink and have fun but I have nothing in common with any of them. They are all snooty in their fancy brand name clothes 
and will all be sporting their McCain stickers on their bigg a$$ SUV's(I'm a little bitter, can't you tell? ). Not to get into any political discussion, but that is soooo not me.
I tell my sis that I have way more in common with my working class aunts and uncles who all still garden, bake, etc. and I would much rather hang out with them. She thinks I'm crazy.

those are some good ideas. I love the beach when it is a little cooler and I can sit and read and noone is around. But no beach for me they said. We did go one night late for a walk and it took them a couple of days to flush the sand out of the wound.
But the picnic is a great idea.
