The last day for free dining is Nov 1 (or at least it takes a break then). We are thinking of taking a last minute trip & unfortunately can't leave until after school on Nov 1. The only reasonable flight I can find has us landing after midnight on the 1st. Will I have any trouble because I'm checking in technically on the 2nd, even though I'm paying for the 1st?

Also, what if I reserve & pay for the room on the 1st but didn't take a arrive till the 2nd? Would I lose free dining? Just dreading a very late night flight with 3 tired kids and wondering if I should just fly out on the 2nd instead.

No, you won't. The system won't turn over until about 6 AM. As far as the hotel is concerned it is still November 1.

However, if you arrive past 6 AM on the 2nd and your reservation was for the 1st, you'd be considered a no-show and you would have no reservation to check in for.

Agreeing with PP. We had the same issue one year and we were driving. We did not make it in till about 2 Am and had no trouble and got our dinning credit even tho we technically did not arrive till the next day. I do not know who is your travel group, but is there anyway that maybe you could take that late flight and get checked into the resort and then the rest of your party come in the next day so they all do not have to travel so late? I personally would just load up my family, not make any early morning plans for the next day and sleep in.

That idea won't work. You have to check in before 6am to keep the dining plan that technically expires on the prior day.

We have done a really late flight before. Just plan on not doing much of anything right away the next day. Have a good sleep in, and head out when everyone is up and ready to go.

As others have said, checking in after midnight is not a problem. Even though it's technically the 2nd, it's still the 1st as far as your reservation goes. We usually take late flights and don't arrive at MCO until 11:00 pm or later and have never had a problem checking in at the resort after midnight (with one time checking in around 1:30 a.m.). With that said, we actually like the late flights the night before as we wake up ready to go the next morning rather than having that first day be a travel day.
