I haven't been to WDW in 2 years. When I was there last FoP was a hot ticket item and FPP was almost impossible to get despite an onsite stay. On my upcoming trip we will be staying offsite. How difficult will it be to get a FPP to FoP or is it even possible?

It will be difficult. Continue searching though, even the day of. People's plans change. If you have a large party split up and search for groups of 2.

We're offsite people. Getting a FP+ for FoP isn't literally impossible, but very highly unlikely at 30 days out. Your best bet is same day, using refresh.

You will have a 0.0% chance of getting it at your 30 day mark. Your best luck will be checking close to your visit. I hear a lot of reports of people getting them the night before or morning of their trip as others cancel/change plans.

Be on the lookout for park hours extending. If they do you can grab one a few days after they update the hours.

I'm staying offsite for my upcoming trip and was checking as often as possible and got lucky - I was able to grab one for a group of 3 about 2-3 weeks before the trip. I got one for SDMT too with the same strategy. Right before the trip and day of there is a much higher chance of grabbing one though.

Still difficult even if you happen to be on the computer right at 7am. I had this issue for my end of November trip, supposedly a slower time and i could not get FOP at all. But i kept randomly checking and at about 45 days out i did find one. You are still best to put your AK day later in your trip to help increase your odds.

For my Dec 4-7 trip I was unable to get it for our party of 3 at 60 days out (AK day was 60+1). However, I kept checking periodically every couple days and was able to find them for our party of 3 at around 32ish days out. I was also able to snag us a 2nd set of them the day of, as a 5th fp I believe. So no, it's not impossible.

FOP is hot . .just not as hot as SDD in my opinion. Both are still the hot ticket items for their particular parks simply due to the tiering and limited "ride" attractions at those parks. The only way to fix it .. is to get more attractions WORTH getting FPs for at AK. (The SDD problem will probably be fixed at DHS by adding 3 new 'hot' attractions soon).

AK simply needs more ride attractions to spread the wealth.

I just booked Fast Passes for a trip coming up in two months. There was actually some FOP fast passes available RIGHT at 7:00 AM for my check-in day (day 60) .. but in the evening. There were no SDD fast passes available on the 4th day of my trip (60+3). My sister's family will be disappointed .. but hopefully they will want to wait in line still. I got a FOP FP for my last November trip .. but only because my cousin's family were arriving 5 days before us and they booked FPs for us WELL in advance. I was able to get FOP FP because she could book them at 60+6.

As much as I "gamed" the system and took advantage of the "length of stay" bonus (by having my cousin book our FPs for us), I just feel the "bonus" you get for longer trips is unfair. A 4-night/5-day trip is pretty average .. and having all the FP times gobbled up for the "hot" attractions despite trying to do at the first second you are able is just frustrating. Give me Max Pass where I can just make Fast Passes the day of. No "bonus" for length of stay.

As a pain as it would be for a week .. I would be fine with just being able to book FPs 60 days in advance. PERIOD. If you are staying for 10 days .. log in each morning for 10 days to make your fast passes for that day 60 days from then. Sure .. you are inconvenienced for a few days in a row, but once they are done - you are set for your arrival and not frustrated you couldn't get that hot FP DESPITE logging in as soon as you could.

Hijack here...
We are staying onsite, but check in on a Thursday (7/25-7/29). Will we be at a huge disadvantage with fop since it is probably more “normal” to start a stay on a Sunday?

For me that is 5AM MT, and for those on the West Coast 4AM. Just sayin'...

Nope. Your 60+4 is someone else's 60+1. That's why it's hard to get the FP 60 days out, bc your 60+1 or 60+2 is someone elses 60+5 or whatever.

As long as you're looking towards the end of your stay you shouldn't have as many issues.
