FP+: retain day of reservations?

Now that offsite guests (so basically everyone) can book FP+ in advance, do you think that Disney will retain any "day of" slots or will it just be whatever is leftover?

We are very grateful to a castmember friend who will be bringing 3 of our party of 5 in with her for our two days at Disney in June. We are buying the other two tickets. My guess is that there's no advanced FP+ booking with castmember free tickets.

Do you think we will be out of luck for rides like Soarin'?

Right now, those entering with CM tickets can not link their tickets in MDX or pre-select FP+. We are in the same boat as you.

I think that Disney plans to get CMs and their guests on-board at some point so that they can link their tickets to MDX and pre-select FP+. I have heard a few estimates that indicate it may happen by this fall.

We will be traveling down to WDW in August and I anticipate having to select day-of FP at that point. I really hope they will hold out a few selections for day-of booking. Otherwise I think we'll have a tough time getting on the new mine coaster and a few other really popular things.

I actually think they are already doing it, with ADR, and FastPasses etc.
