I don't know if this had been answered before, but we are going to go visit my brother in May who is on the CP. He got his tickets for us (which apparently are three 6 day park hoppers) and I was wondering if we can make FP+ reservations once we get in a park for another park. I know that sounds confusing, but for example could we make FP+ reservations for MK in AK? Or do you have to be in the park to make the reservations? I know CMs can't make FP+ reservations in advance so I'm assuming that applies to the tickets that we'll be using. Any insight on this topic would be greatly appreciated :)

At this time, same day FP+ selections can only be made in the park you are currently at. Also remember that things could look very different in May particularly for CM guest passes.

That's what I keep telling myself. It's definitely a step in the right direction by having the three 6 day tickets instead of basically getting eighteen 1 day tickets.

My other question is, people who have gone to the parks later in the day, have you had any problems getting FP+ times for any rides? Are plan is to hit the rope drops in the morning to get the rides we really want to do then hop in the afternoon to another park to set up FP+ times for the evening in that park. We will be there 6 days so we should be able to get everything done between FP+ and rope drops! :)

I'm an AP and we go to the parks later in the day and we've had no problems getting FP+ for all rides except TSM. We have done this at AK, MK and DHS we have not tried to do any rides at Epcot yet.

DD is a CM we went down for a quick trip in February to visit her. We are AP holders and DVC so we did FP+ in advance. We had to redo everything each morning to be able to ride with our daughter. Guest relations informed us that when traveling with a CM we should not bother to book FP+ in advance. I would agree EXCEPT for Toy Story. None of us would have ridden if I had not booked in advance. They were able to give her a pass to ride with us on the fast pass time I prebooked. Also it was not crowded when we visited. I don't know if I will take a chance on not prebooking fast passes on my family of 9 for Easter weekend.

He bought you regular tix. Link them and book in advance. He will have to try to match his times day off.

I am not so sure he got them regular tickets. As I recall a CP can get three people in 6 different days and that is a park hopper so brother might just be telling them how often he can get them in the park and not actually have a ticket in hand.

I agree, and my DD just bought us tickets at Disney University, we wanted 6 day park hoppers and she said the most you are allowed to purchase is 5. You have to upgrade to 6 days at a guest relations and pay the difference.

Yes that's true but I would never refer to main gates as park hopper tickets. They are always referred to as main gates. And I'd be checking very carefully that my trip dates weren't in a black out period.

It is my understanding (and I could be wrong here) but the main gate passes changed. Last year when we visited him on his CP he would put his main gate in for my three family members, and the CMs working the gate would give us each a 1 day hopper for the day. We did this for six days, which was all the tickets he had. He is telling me now that they changed the way the do this, and he was given three, 6 day hopper passes that are a plastic card, instead of the blue main gate he used to get us in. This is all second hand information, so it could be wrong, but that is what he is telling me.

That is correct. And as of now those can't be linked in advance.

That is very good to hear! Thank you! We are figuring if we want to get on TSM, we will have to do the rope drop to get it.

So since he already has the hopper passes, does that mean that we won't even need him to get into the parks? :confused3

No, you absolutely need him to get into the parks every single day and those blue main gates must be collected by him at the end of the day/trip because they are reusable passes.

The system is the same. He scans his main gate then each of his guest passes are scanned directly after his with each person doing a finger scan.

Oh okay. Thank you!
