It's my 60 days till OKW day tomorrow :cool1: I have a few questions about booking FP+
  • Do you book each day at 60 days in advance or can you book the whole holiday in advance like dining reservations?
  • If I use Wishes as an option would I be able to book subsequent Fastpasses or would it not let me because third FP hadn't been used?
  • Is it still best to plan one headliner at rope drop ( we tend to get there early) and use FP for other rides?
  • Is it worth using FP for parades and evening shows?
I'm also considering early EMH in magic Kingdom to ride SDMT at rope drop, we don't usually use EMH, but are hoping it will be worth it to explore New Fantasyland.
Thanks for help pixiedust:

When I booked 14 days opened at once then my remaining days opened one at a time (we are staying 16 nights).

You can not obtain additional FP in the parks until you have either used all 3 or the windows have passed. If you booked a fireworks FP you wouldn't be able to get another until after the fireworks.

We still do rope drop - no reason not too as it will have the shortest standby waits of the day.

Choice is yours as to whether you feel you want to use a FP for parades and fireworks. Personally, I have booked a FP for the FoF parade as we haven't see it yet. I wouldn't bother with MSEP as we are just fussed if we see that or not!

You should be able to book all of your FP+ when your 60 day window opens (you can book for the length of stay onsite).

You will not be able to book any subsequent FP+ until all three have been used so if you use a FP+ for Wishes or Illuminations, you will not get more than three.

This is the approach my daughter and I used in March, however the one thing to bear in mind is that FP+ are available to book from park opening whereas legacy FP used to have a return time usually at least 30 minutes later. Therefore, standby lines can build up very quickly at rope drop now so whereas you might more or less walk straight on to that first ride of the day, now you could be waiting 10 minutes or so. That obviously means that standby lines for other rides will have built up more significantly by the time you get to them.
  • Is it worth using FP for parades and evening shows?
Parades, yes, unless you are not planning to stay in the park or hop to another park afterwards. Evening shows/firework, I would only say yes if you plan to arrive in the park later and just do afternoon/evening with your 3 FP+ as you won't be able to get any more than the three. Exception to this is if crowd levels are very low but then probably not needed anyway.

Morning EMH is probably a good way to do SDMT without needing to get a FP+ for it (at least better than trying rope drop on a non-EMH day).

Thanks so much for help, finalising plans ready to get going tomorrow :thumbsup2
