FP+ for shows?

Last time we went to HS, we got in line "late" for B&tB and were shuttled to terrible seats, way near the back and over to the side. It made me want to cry- this is my favorite show (hmmm, maybe 2nd favorite, being FotLK), but I don't know if the bad seating was because we were pretty close to show time or because we were "peons"- those without a FP+. How does seating work at the shows, now that there is FP+? Do FP holders get priority/better seating, or just let in first, or what? DD24 is hoping to be chosen for the Indiana Jones show (she was once before, but show was canceled due to thunderstorms). If we have FP for this, will she have a better chance of being chosen to participate?

FP+ works differently at various shows.
Most times (nearly always,) a FP is unnecessary and little advantage for shows.
Take a look at the FP+ FAQ sticky priorities (HERE) for the FPs that are most/least advantageous.

The reason you were seated side-rear at B&B is because you were a late arrival.
The B&B FP section IS down-front, but it is by no means the bulk of the crowd, nor
a majority of the seating area.

At Indy:
The most "excited and boisterous" guests have an edge in getting "chosen."
Sitting closer can aid in this, but a FP for Indy is not a guarantee of close seating.
Arriving EARLY is.

Depends. The FP FAQ discusses each.

I would arrive 15 min. early and save that FP for rides that have a longer wait, unless you are traveling at an exceptionally busy time of year.

You should not need a FP for BnB . As mentioned, if you arrive 15-20 minutes before the show starts, you should have no trouble getting a good seat.
If you arrive late, all bets are off.
