Of our FP selections, I'm thinking of using one for the FoF parade. We'll have 6 to use at MK (2 days).

I've done, A&E, 2 for 7D, Splash Mountain, Meet Cinderella/Rapunzel. I'm trying to figure out what to use my 6th for.

The parade is a must do for us, and as I look through the list of other things we can get FP's for, I really don't have anything else at the top of my list. We're going to RD both days, so other rides that might otherwise require FP we'll hit at RD. The only other things I'd consider would be BTMR, or Jungle Cruise?

Has anyone FP'd the FoF parade, what is the viewing area like, and was it worth it?

Because you said this, I recommend you get a FP for FoF. The viewing area is currently in the middle of Town Square.

Good question lily, I was wondering the exact same thing. we didn't see the FOF parade last year so my DD has insisted we FP it this year. But then I keep seeing posts here and there saying it's not worth it.

Mesa, when you say the "middle of town square", you mean the big circle where you first enter the park, right?

Yes, Town Square is where the flagpole is located. I have FPs for FoF and MSEP and am looking forward to viewing from that area!

Yep, the island "teardrop" area smack dab in the middle of TS with the flagpole. That's great for viewing, the parade goes almost all the way around you. In the middle of summer, just realize it won't be the coolest spot around.

For us, it was totally worth it. We were able to sit (on the ground) and watch the whole parade. Several of the walking characters interacted with those of us in the FastPass area to the delight of all of us, but the kids especially.

We just did the FP for FOF yesterday and it was great. It's definitely HOT with the sun but my 2 boys were in their strollers and had their sun shades up. I'd suggest bringing umbrellas for the sun if you have strollers to store stuff. We were there early because I wanted a spot looking down main street and didn't want to have to worry about my boys not seeing. We had 3 days in MK so we had the spare FP+ to use. I wouldn't use it if it were just me and my husband but since our vacation revolved around the interests of 3 year olds it was worth it. Our moms were with us and very impressed. My MIL doesn't love parades but I think even she was impressed with the location we had and enjoyed herself. You have tons of room to move around and the CMs are very friendly. They had no problem letting my husband take our sons out of the area for a bathroom break. It was nice not having to worry about staking out a spot and loosing it if you moved.

Personally I would use it for BTMR or Belle ( Based on Mesaboy's post on Fast pass priorities :D) and my experience. We were able to watch the parade thanksgiving week and even the "back side " of rotating floats without special seating or lining up crazy early. We were close enough that go walking characters interaction. I think I lined up around where it makes the turn into liberty square about 15 minutes before it started on the wed before thanksgiving so crazy busy crowds. As a matter of fact we were close enough that dragon's breath was right on us as it made the turn. It had rained in August when we went every MK afternoon so it was canceled those days that trip. So this was a must do for us but I didnt want to use a FP for it.

That said if it does cancel because of rain you can usually change that fastpass to BTMR or sometimes even Belle from your phone so you wouldnt be "out" a fastpass

We just used a FP for that parade and enjoyed it more this time than previous times without a FP. If you get there right when the FP area opens, you can choose a spot with the sun behind you as well as on the curb. We had so few people in the FP hub that we weren't blocking any views from kids and we were even able to walk around the hub as we photographed the parade from different angles as it moved thru the square. Based on your current FP plans already lined up and because you've already nailed down your first priorities, I'd consider this a good choice for a secondary FP.

Is the move to town square in stead of the hub a permanent one? Or will it be moving back to the hub soon? The hub seems like a better location. I think I will be making a FP+ for the FoF parade in Sept.

It would make sense to move it back to the Hub.
Time will tell.

We loved our MSEP FP but felt the FoF was too hot in the sun. We released our FP and sat in Frontierland.
I'd do ETWB or PpF.

Now I am considering not making a FP+ for FoF. We are going at a very low crowd time, so we should be able to get a decent spot somewhere.

Deep in Frontierland past Country Bears or near Hall of Presidents are reliable choices.

We have a no park resort day planned at WL during our trip. On that day I booked a FP+ for FoF parade. I figure by 3pm some of us will may want to wander over to MK for the parade. I alos booked a 4pm on splash and a 5 pm on 7DMT.

being able to pop in for a couple of hours and see a parade with no hassle at all and riding two headliners without any lines is an enormous benefit IMO. That alone might be enough to sway me over to the "I like FP+ changes" crowd.
