FP+ distribution ending on app 2 hours before park close? Anybody else or just me??

We were at WDW January 25-February 1. On several evenings, at MK a couple of times and also at HS, and I believe Epcot if I remember correctly, once it hit 6 PM (with a closing time of 8 PM) if I would try to get a 4th+ FP the park would be "grayed out" with the "some parks may not have FastPass+ availability for this date" warning. If I would back out and go back in it would still be grayed out. This was on the app. I can't remember if I tried the mobile website, which I did use a lot last week as I like how it uses the "old way" of refreshing for FPs. If I didn't, I should have.

ANYWAY, I know it wasn't that there just weren't any FPs available at all because I could go to a kiosk and get one. Anybody else have this issue? Or am I just the lucky one to have a weird glitch?

I’ve gotten that message many times, usually in the evening. I just back out, try again, and usually it works. Sometimes it takes two tries. You either had bad timing and picked moments were fp’s were truly gone for a second...or it could’ve been a glitch.

They do not stop FP distribution 2 hours before the park closes.
They do however, run out late in the day on some occasions.
Temporarily. They come and go a lot.

They will stop FP distribution sometimes up to a certain time before park closes on party nights. Is it a party night?

We were there this past week and I will say I had issues with the app. My son and I updated to the newest version later in the week and both started having issues. My husband did not update his and had no problems. It seems to me there are issues with the update.

I backed out and went back in many times, but nothing. And it started exactly 2 hours before close on several nights of our trip.

Usually a few back and forth taps will result in something showing up. Although when you get towards the last hour or so of park operations, time and supply/demand do start to work against you on some level - especially at the parks with fewer attractions. 8pm closings come quick too, this time of year.
