Working on my first FP+ trip this May. I have been reading all the FP+ threads including MesaBoy2's great thread and have a couple questions.
1. What happens if a ride is down during your window?
It seems that if you are at a park and the ride is down MDX automatically assigns a different ride? Do you get a chance to able to use FP+ on that same ride later in the day?
I am interested in general on this but have a specific situation. We will be at MK on May 10 which is the last day of POTC before its scheduled long refurb. In truth I was not planning to visit MK until later that week but switched MK to Sunday so we could ride POTC.
I have read about all the problems POTC has been having in recent months and also guessing it may have longer lines than usual because of it being the final day of operation for some months. In any case I am thinking about getting a FP+ for POTC that day to increase our chance of riding in case it is down for part of the day and/or the crowds really do surge for POTC that day. Normally I would not think POTC would need FP because of its huge capacity.
So what if POTC is down during our FP window that day? Will we get an automatic chance to ride it later in the day when it presumably comes back on line? If so that makes choosing FP+ for POTC more compelling for me on May 10.
2. What happens if we have a morning FP+ and for some reason are late getting to the park? Is it gone are automatically reassigned to something else?
3. Here is a trickier question. We will have four of our kids - young adult men ages 19-23 - in our group who may prefer to sleep in one morning (or more than one LOL!) and could miss a FP+ window. So what happens if I book a pre-noon FP+ for six of us on the same ride and only I and DW make the FP window? So our two FPs register as used but the four kids do not. What happens to their FPs if say they show up at noon after the window has passed for them?
Thanks!
